Afraid that I had done something wrong I looked confused at him, only our harsh breathing could be heard.
"God, what you do to me.", Nathan's now raspy voice said and heat engulfed me yet again.
I giggled at his words and saw his own lips spread into a smile. My smile. Femine pride filled me when I realized that Nathan was smiling because of me. I had done that.
Something had shifted between us, making our bond only stronger.
"As much as I want to stay here with you and believe me I want to, Levin's nagging me to bring you back.", Nathan said with annoyance and longing so clear in his voice that it warmed my heart.
He took one of my hands in his, kissed my knuckles lovingly and asked, "Ready?"
And it was in this moment that I realized that we had just accepted each other as mates.
And wherever my mate would go, I would follow.
"Ready!".
"How are you since you're back here?", I wanted to know from Nathan, having worried about his arrival here and the welcome from his family and pack.
He squeezed my hand gently and I still marvelled at the strong current flowing through me. It felt surreal. Everything seemed like a dream - the very best.
Nathan smirked at me, stopped walking and pulled me into his arms. I loved how affectionate he was with me and hoped he would never stop. As much as I should not need the confirmation that Nathan wanted me, I needed it like I needed air to breath. It had already become a necessity.
"Were you worried about me?", he asked and I could hear the astonishment in is deep voice.
Why was he suprised? He was my mate, of course I would be concerned.
"Very much so, I thought about you every second of the day.", I admitted shyly and saw his scotch coloured eyes soften at my words.
Nathan closed the distance between us and burrowed his head in my neck. I shivered when I felt his breath on my neck.
Our kiss deepened and before I could muster up all my courage to intensify it even more, Nathan drew back and leaned his forehead on mine.
"I'm going to kill Levin!", he growled out.
I giggled at his words, glad that Nathan enjoyed kissing me as much as I did and before I could think twice about it I blurted out, "Later!"
Nathan's eyes heated even more and he huskily responded, "Definitely!"
I had to swallow around the lump in my throat, because if we did not move I was sure I would be marked and mated in no time, and I would enjoy every second of it.
Nathan then growled again and although I felt the power behind his action deep in my bones I did not experience any fear. I knew he would never intentionally harm me. Nathan pulled me closer once more, kissing my forehead softly and inhaling my scent. He relaxed instantly and I marvelled at his reaction.
"Nathan.", I whispered his name like a prayer. And in a sense he was the answer to all my prayers. He instantly drew back and I noticed that his brown eyes were almost black, meaning his wolf was close to the surface.
"That's the first time you said my name.", he told me and I felt a shiver running down his spine. I loved the effect I had on him.
