"Hey don't ruin my blanket.", Milena admonished me grinningly. I had not even noticed my fingers clawing into her blanket, because I was just so jealous about the women Nathan had been involved with.
"Sorry,", I apologized meekly and lowered my gaze to the floor.
"I totally get it Sophia!", Milena said, took a seat beside me and gently wrapped an arm arround me. I leaned in, needing her comfort and hoped that she could ease my worries.
"I would've been green with jealousy if Silas had been intimate with another woman before, but then again Silas was brought up in the werewolf world, knowing all the rules and customs, whereas Nathan wasn't."
"I know, I can't hold it against him, it's just hard for me, because I'll always compare myself to.."
Suddenly the door to Milena's room flew open and a furious looking Nathan entered. Panicked my eyes widened. Had he heard our conversation?
He looked calm, there was no sign that he was close to shifting, but Nathan's usually scotch coloured eyes were a deep black. I knew he would never hurt me, but it made me uneasy seeing his wolf so close to the surface and possibly being the reason for it.
"Come!", he ordered and I instantly rose from my seat. However, Nathan must had realized how uncertain I felt and his face softened.
"Please!", Nathan added and extended his hand for me to take.
Like a moth to the flame I was drawn to Nathan and closed the distance between us, placing my hand in his own.
The electric current coursing though me had my shoulders relax and when Nathan wrapped his arms around me, pulling me closer to his body, I could feel the anger leaving his body.
He buried his face in my hair and deeply inhaled my scent, further calming him down.
"Okay, seems like I'm unnecessary, so I'll leave you two lovebirds alone.", Milena told us, the amusement clear in her voice and for a split second I wondered if she had heard Nathan coming to her room and intentionally asked me about mating.
"No, we'll leave." Nathan's husky voice made me shiver and he drew back searching my eyes.
I had no idea what I was feeling right now, but whatever Nathan saw in my eyes made his face soften and he unwrapped his arms from around me, only to entwine my hand in his.
Nathan tugged at my hand wanting me to follow him and like a love sick fool I did.
"Thanks for packing my suitcase.", I told Milena turning around again and noticed a gleam in her eyes that confirmed my earlier suspicion.
I followed Nathan into our room and as soon as the door was closed behind us, he walked away from me as if he needed as much distance between us as the room would allow him.
I will not lie, because something in me broke and my wolf howled, deeply hurt as well. However, I also knew rationally that Nathan could not have known about mates and their special bond.
"I'm so sorry Sophia!", Nathan whispered and felt his hand engulf my own.
I pressed myself even closer to Nathan. I wanted to tell him that there was nothing to be sorry about, but I could not. So I settled on telling him, "Thank you!"
I felt his whole body relax. "Are you sure it's okay, because just thinking about you with some other guy makes me want rip his throat out."
A small smile appeared on my lips and I knew it was wrong, but feeling Nathan getting so worked up about an imagined scenario felt really good.
"It's okay I promise.", I told him, hoping it would distract Nathan enough to stop shaking in rage.
He exhaled and before I could realize Nathan had moved, I found myself face to face with my stunning mate.
"Hey.", I said smilingly and marvelled as an answering smile appeared on his face.
