The Rogue Party novel The Girl He Banished

10 years Later-

Somewhere in the forest

Rogue Lands.

A figure was leaning against a tree bark. Seeing the people around enjoying the night.

A bonfire was lit. As they cheered the pitchers , boosted up for the following day's attack .

"We are going to kick their asses of tomorrow! I bet they wouldn't expect it!"

"Man! I want to see that elders face! The one that said we rogues were filth! "

"What will he say when I kill-"

"Jeremy"

The figure speaks stepping into the light. To make the chatter silence down. Jeremy stands up immediately, and bows. His face looking flushed.

"Alph..a"

Looking around at everyone, the figure sees everyone bowing. To only nod in acknowledgement.

"Who are we Jeremy?"

He blinks. Confused at the Alpha's question. To only blurt out.

"We...we are rogues Alpha...we attack packs."

His words stutter and his figure was literally shaking under the Alpha's aura. To only have the Alpha to place a hand on his shoulder. Making Jeremy look up at those brown orbs of their Alpha, visible through the mask.

"We are rogues who loot Jeremy.."

.

.

"We loot to provide for all the rogues who were left to die in the forests...we loot for those small children whose families were killed...we loot for the women whose mate's died and they were left in the forest to die"

"We are thiefs Jeremy"

.

.

"Not murderers"

And that's when Jeremy's eyes widen. Realising why the Alpha was saying this. He knows now that the Alpha has heard him saying the things he said earlier.

Bowing his head, he starts apologizing.

"I am sorry Alpha I didn't mean to offend! I am sorry-"

The masked Alpha didn't bother. To only step back from him. Looking around at everyone.

"For those who have forgotten why we do this. This pack is not to avenge or kill or for those with personal ulterior motives! This pack is for survival, for help! And those who can't stick to it. Can leave any second."

No one says anything. As deadly silence follows. And that's when the Alpha could affirm, that they indeed understood well.

"Tomorrow. You all go to attack the Redmoon pack. The strongest pack in the world."

"And I want all of you to stick to the plan and come back, alive."

Some manage to smile while others nodded in enthusiasm. Knowing these were the maximum words of concern they will be getting from their cold and introvert Alpha, who rarely shows emotions

"Yes Alpha!"

They coo together and the masked Alpha nods. To only see one of them still sitting on the last benches, lost in his thoughts.

"Char"

Charlie gets up in high alert.Getting in attention. Listening the Alpha's calling his name, to only gulp.

"Alpha..."

"That's enough drinking for the night. Now get back to your senses before I make you."

"I am sorr-"

The Alpha shows Charlie his hand asking him to shut it.

"I am not done yet Charlie."

Charlie folds his hands behind his back lowering his gaze.

"You are aware ,that you are to lead tomorrow's mission. Aren't you?"

"Yes Alpha! I am aware! I am sober ! I swear!But wait a minute."

"Won't you be coming tomorrow?"

Charlie's question made all eyes to stop on their Alpha, who stood there in silence.

"No"

The masked Alpha's cold voice made their smiles to drop and hearts to thud. They all have rarely fought without the Alpha. Until now.

They needed their leader , they wanted to ask the reason. But no one dared to ask. Not having enough courage.

Turning back to leave, the figure was going to walk out. When a voice echoes from behind.

"Alpha! Wait!"

The black combats of the mysterious figure stops. Hands clenched in fists. To only seethe in utmost irritation.

"Speak Charlie. What's it now?"

Charlie debates. But still, he knew he had to ask this.

"It's not just any pack Alpha. It's the Redmoon. The strongest in the world. It's the most difficult theft of our life. How can you leave us on our own?"
