Without warning, a deafening noise disrupted the peaceful atmosphere of the room. Everyone jolted as three girls burst in from outside.

Each sported vibrantly dyed hair, wore provocative clothes, and shot hostile stares around the room. Shiny lip piercings glinted on their faces. One glance was enough to know they spelled trouble.

“Lottie, why are you here?” Tracey recognized them instantly.

“Winona, I said I’d be back to settle this. Did you think I was joking?” Lottie Gonzalez held up a short blade, the

light catching on its edge.

“What do you want?” Winona asked, visibly shaken.

“What do I want?” Lottie sneered, her tone venomous. “Simple. I’ll carve up your face a bit. Maybe slice off that chest of yours. Then we’ll see if I let you crawl away.”

“You’re insane! That’s assault!” Winona backed up, panic rising.

“I lost my mind because of you!” Lottie snapped, eyes blazing with rage.

Maren squinted, sensing this wasn’t random. It reeked of a personal grudge. But knowing Winona, she doubted she’d provoke anyone.

“Winona, what’s going on here?” she asked.

“This has nothing to do with her. Lottie’s just unhinged. She had feelings for some guy, but he liked Winona

instead. He even said so in front of everyone. Winona rejected him, but Lottie still blames her.”

Agate stepped in, standing between the trembling Winona and the aggressors, explaining the situation to Maren

and Tracey.

They’d met only once at a function, and Judson Lewis had confessed right away. Winona had rejected him then and there.

Even afterward, he kept pursuing her, saying he’d wait no matter how often she said no.

Once Lottie discovered this, she pinned everything on Winona.

Dora and Krista closed the distance, prompting the others to instinctively move away. Winona retreated too.

“How many times has she harassed Winona?” Maren asked, eyes narrowing. Winona’s terrified expression said

this wasn’t new.

“I’ve lost track,” Tracey admitted. “Over half a year, at least. We’ve stopped her when we could, but we can’t always be there. And now Lottie wants to scar her? She’s completely unhinged.”

The reply hit Maren like a punch. She never would’ve guessed someone as bubbly as Winona had been suffering in silence for that long.
