Chapter 149 

Valencia’s POV 

“Oh, shit Oh my god!” I squaded, my voice harely shove a whisper as I stood behind the curtains with Marcelene, peeking 

out onto the lawn. 

Marcy let out a low whistle beside me, crossing her arms as we both watched the scene unfolding in the garden. 

One of the Steele wolves from the communityEmmanuel, who also worked as our receptionist from time to time–was standing nervously in front of Seven, a large bouquet of red roses in his hands. His expression was almost painfully hopeful as he extended them toward Seven, waiting for his response 

I didn’t know how to feel about this 

On one hand, this was Emmanuel’s true emotion, something he had buried so deep within himself that even he wasn’t aware of it All Dante had done was give it a little magical push. But on the other hand judging from the way Seven’s polite smile barely masked his awkward discomfort, it was obvious what was about to happen. 

“Oh.. poor guy,” Caius muttered from behind me, and I turned around to find him shaking his head. 

I rolled my eyes. “What poor guy? He is way out of Seven’s league. Not to mention he’s two years older than him.” 

Marcy hummed in agreement, her lips twitching with amusement. “Right. The audacity is pretty astounding, especially with 

a face like that.” 

Dante sighed from behind us, his deep voice carrying a hint of exasperation. “If you two keep thinking that way, we might never be able to marry our ‘son‘ off. There’s no way we can find anyone in his league.” 

“Pff-” Caius barely managed to stifle his laugh when Marcy shot him a glare. It wasn’t serious, though–her eyes held the same teasing gleam as his. 

I sighed dramatically, shaking my head. “That’s true… We’ll need to work hard to find someone suitable for him.” I nodded, matching Dante’s solemn tone. 

“So… was that a pass?” 

Seven’s voice behind me made me jump slightly, and I turned to face him, grinning. 

“With flying colors, I’d say.” 

Marcy tilted her head, eyeing Emmanuel, who was now walking away from the estate grounds, his posture stiff. “He’s usually pretty shy, isn’t he? He’s holding himself together pretty well, but you can see that he’s on the verge of crying.” 

Seven frowned, shifting his grip on the bouquet. “Didn’t we go too far, though? I feel kind of bad for him…” 

Caius scoffed. “We’re going to have to go way farther on the actual wedding day. If this didn’t work, how do you expect us to manage then?” 

I nodded in agreement. “And it’s not like we controlled his mind or emotions. We just helped his subconscious bring out his deepest truth. Apparently, his secret was that he’s been crushing on you.” 

Dante smirked slightly as we all made our way back toward the elevator. “If you really feel that bad, then why did you reject him?” 

Seven stiffened a little, looking down at the bouquet. “I–I’m not ready for a relationship.” 

I nodded, giving him an approving look. “Good. Good. I won’t allow any dating until you turn twenty at least.”

Chapter 149 

If he was a normal teen then I would have said sixteen or eighteen. However, his normal life hard just begin. He had a lot to learn and see before he got muddled up in matters of love and relationships. 

Seven rolled his eyes, but the slight curve of his lips betrayed his amusement. 

The past month since Jason’s departure had been eventful. Dante and I had come up with a plan–one that, if executed correctly, would bring Lethis’s misdeeds out into the open for everyone to see 

But for it to work, Lethis had to confess herself. 

And for that, we needed Dante’s power. 

We still weren’t entirely sure how it worked, but one thing was certain our daily training had paid off 

Even though he hadn’t learned to control minds, he had learned to manipulate a person’s conscience, to push them into speaking their own truths. 

That was exactly what we needed. 

The plan wasn’t complicated. In fact, it was quite simple. 

Make her confess. In front of everyone. 

However, before we could move forward, there was one person I needed on my side–someone who needed to know everything before it happened. 

Alpha Selene. 

I glanced down at the time. 8 AM. 

The wedding was tomorrow, which meant my meeting with her today was of the utmost importance. I wouldn’t get another chance after today. 

I hadn’t been able to secure a physical meeting, considering how busy she was, but I had managed to arrange a private online one–a short fifteen minutes. 

I needed to make it count. 

Dante had to leave for a meeting soon, so I pecked him on the cheek as he wished me luck. 

Caius and Marcy’s trip to Dubai had been postponed until after the wedding, meaning they would be leaving next week. They had been busy wrapping up their affairs here before their departure. 

As for Seven, he had officially started his studies at Moonveil Academy three weeks ago, taking a five–day leave just to attend the wedding with us. Him going wasn’t really necessary but I had decided on taking him because firstly, I needed someone to look after Castor and secondly, we would make his position in the Steele pack known to everyone. To stop any unnecessary rumours in the future when he pursued higher studies. 

I bid them all goodbye before heading to the fourth–floor living area. If I was going to have this conversation, I needed to be 

comfortable. 

A new laptop had already been brought over by the maids, and just as I settled onto the plush sofa with Castor’s egg nestle beside me, the call came through. 

I took a deep breath, exhaling slowly to calm my nerves before accepting the request. 

The screen flickered to life, and Alpha Selene’s composed face appeared.
