*** general  POV***

As soon as Melanie left Jaxon  turned to cole with a questioning look.

"you know the Phoenix princess? Wow! "

Cole pretended he didn't know anything about Melanie being jaxon's sister..

"that was my sister dude. If I'm not mistaken it's her although she's changed  a lot in the space of a week.

She wasn't this pretty she had brown hair not red, her eyes weren't red and her skin wasn't red either.

You came with her so you must know what happened to her.

And wait what did you  just call her? "

Cole asked Jaxon. He was way beyond curious  and needed an answer.

"relax man.  That's the Phoenix princess,i didn't know she was your sister.  She just joined my pack yesterday and offered to protect my pack for the exchange of her friend's life... "

Cole muttered looking at Jaxon  with a redundant  face.

"no!  You have to know about what happened to her. This ain't Melanie anymore!  She wasn't this willful look the way she talked back at me earlier.  My sister will never talk back at me.  What the hell happened to her Cole! "

Jaxon snapped impatiently and grabbed Cole's shoulders.

"let go of me man! I told you I don't know a thing about her, you can ask Charlie here."

Cole said and motioned his head towards Charlie  who stood with her arms folded. The rest of the pack members were also watching what was happening.

Cole turned to Charlie.

"what happened to my sister? "

He snapped.

Charlie  didn't even flinch.

She looked at him coldly and muttered in a clearly and audible yet sour voice.

"I'm not telling you a thing. Go kiss your ass!"

Cole gave her a thank you look for not revealing anything to Jaxon.

"can we please talk about this later buddy.  I'm damn hungry! "

Cole snapped and dragged Jaxon  along with him towards the pack house.

The rest of the twenty warriors followed.

*** Melanie's POV***

My foot clicked and clapped along to the wooden stairs as I walked up.

Quinn stood beneath the stairs and stared up at me with an impossible  scorn on her face.

I don't care,

All I wanted is was to see my mom and then leave the damn house.

I opened the door to the familiar  room I loved to visit so much.

There she lay on the bed flat.

Her eyes were wide opened as she stared at the ceiling.

She seemed to be in deep thoughts.

I approached  her slowly as I shut the door silently.

She didn't notice me until I was just feets away form her.

She looked at me plainly and muttered my name with ease.

"Melanie baby.. "

She muttered.

I immediately  bend and hugged her, crying over her shoulders with a burst.

She too was in tears as soon as she saw me.

She drew me closer to her body.

"Mother....I've missed you like crazy!"

I exclaimed as she cried on her shoulders.

"Don't cry baby girl,I've missed you so much but I've been fine."

mother cooed.

"Ain't you going to ask me what happened to me mom?"

I asked her.

So long, everyone who sees me in my new form is baffled and confused so why isn't mother the same?

"Am just so happy to see you baby. I don't care why your like this am just happy that your back into my arms"

She said.

I smiled at her before speaking.

"When I reached the pack garden to attend the ceremony a week ago something happened.

One thing led to the other and I ended up finding out that I was mated to the king.

Its so unfortunate of me to me mated to the complex alpha.

I somewhat blamed the moon goddess for her cruel choice.

She had no right to rule over me and mate me to someone who would hate me.

I am a princess not a slave to anyone.

He rejected me mother.

The cruel king rejected me.

I was humiliated like I was nothing in this world!"

I paused and sniffed.

I was literally crying.

"And do you know the worst part of it all?

My own father and brother also rejected me.

I know for sure that they disliked me.
