The Rejected Phoenix novel Chapter 14

Chapter fourteen.

Subtitle : her pains.

*** still on Melanie's  POV ***

I began to panic immediately mother didn't respond to my call.

I touched her neck to feel if she was still breathing.

I confirmed that she wasn't dead and blew out an air of relieve.

At least I know she was'nt dead.

I wanted to remove the necklace but then after thinking it through I didn't.

Who knows, may be grandma put it there for a purpose.

Maybe it was performing  some functions that were meant to be.

Grandma certainly  wouldn't  kill her own daughter will she?

It was best to get out of the house for now.

I stood up from the bed and quickly  took mother into my arms.

Although the red light didn't die out completely it still shunned a little.

I scooped mother into my arms with just a little difficulty.

She wasn't heavy at all.

She barely eats for a long time now and this has caused her to go skinny and disfigured.

I sighed and turned towards the door walking towards it with her in my arms.

I kicked opened the door as soon as I reached there and left the room walking down the stairs slowly.

As soon as I reached the living room I was met with four people who stood there talking to each other

They seemed to be arguing  about something.

"I told you it was her..  Look closely! "

I heard Quinn said to her father.

I don't regard him as mine anymore.

Her mother Milan was standing besides her along with her sister.

"that's not Melanie..  That's skiny girl can't be her.

Look the hair is different, so is the eyes. "

Milan snapped looking my way.

But then when she squinted her eyes closely as I approached she was getting confused.

the old man was shocked.

His eyes were widened.

"Melanie...  We're the heck did you run to?  And what's  wrong with you?  Did you visit a witch for a body change or what? How dare you disobey me and attend that ceremony huh! You almost ruined my name and image. Have you gone crazy? "

He asked.

Great!

Just great!

I've been missing  for a week now and that is what he asks me first.

"non of your business  Mr Grayson. "

I snapped slowly and made to walk pass them.

I was caught by the hands and dragged back by Milan.

"how dare you talk back at your father?  Didn't you have any manners left in you?

Shaming our family wasn't enough you even had the guts to run away from home.

I had to hire some maids to take care of the chores just because of your stupidity..

And now you just come back as if nothing happened..

Don't even think you'll be allowed to stay in this home again.

And where the heck are you taking that old lady, she's sick for f*ck sake! "

Milan snapped.

I gave her an eye piercing look that made her recoiled.

She let go of my arms willingly.

I made to leave but was held in the hands yet again by Quinn.

I was furious.

"seriously Melanie,did you go to a witch to get a transformation simply because the alpha king rejected you..

You know conniving  with the witches is a dead crime and you will get killed for it but still did anyways.

And the king already rejected you.

Even if you travel thousands of miles to the human world to get a surgery he wouldn't even spare you a glance.. "

She mocked.

I snapped my head towards her in anger.

"didn't I warned  you not to touch me already with your filthy hands!?"

I snapped,my eyes burning with fury.

And just as if my body could feel my anger my arms began to emit an unusual  heat which burned her palm.

"aaaaaaaarghhhhh! "

She cried in pains and removed her hands from me immediately.

She leaped and leaped in tears and showed her palm to her mother.

"she wants to kill me father!  Do you believe me now when I told you the b*tch has turned to a witch? "

She cried and tugged at my father with her other hand.

But then,  he was too shocked to even look at her.

I hissed and walked out of the door still holding my unconscious mother in my arms.

All these while they didn't notice the red mist that enveloped my mom's  neck.

"get back here this instant Melanie and explained what just happen before I get mad at you! "

I heard my father growled behind me but i ignored him and walked out of through the front door.

Latisha flew towards me and shoot me a stare.

"you should have let me come to handle them.  Anyways how do you plan on taking her to the castle? "

She asked.

"I wasn't planning  on taking her now, I wanted everything to end first before taking her but it seems things will have to be changed.
