Chapter 21
Angel Gamen’s Pay
We lost the woman that was truly virtuous, and married a vixen with a royal title. We can blame Lyna for cheating in the tests, manipulating our mate to help her win and turning out to be a legendary bad queen. But it was our choice to reject our mate and treat her like a worthless wretch.
She would probably not have helped Lyna pass the tests or secure our vows with blood if we had not so clearly expressed our have for her. It is our fault that we are trapped in this mess, and I doubt there is a simple way out
I never thought a time would come that I would genuinely yearn to see the kind face of our mate again, to say that I am sorry for every rude word I uid to her. And if she allows it, I would like to ensure her safety and easier life forever. She didn’t deserve the verbal abuse we subjected her to in the name of rejecting her.
Michael finally ushers in the old priest that oversaw the making of our vows. He did warm us of the binding power of a blood promise at the time, but we were to convinced of Lyna’s virtuousness at the time to worry about being stuck with her forever, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, until her death do us part.
The priest bows in a show of respect, and because of his age, Conrad welcomes him to sit with us.
“To what do I owe the honour of sitting in this table, your majesties?” He asks in a humble tone.
“Do you remember the binding promise we made to our queen on the day of our wedding?” I question,
The man is old, remembering is a luxury.
“How can I forget your majesty. I tell my grandchildren the story all the time.” He answers…
“Hmm. I don’t know if you meant that as a compliment or mockery, but the reason we summoned you here is because we regret our decision” I tell. “We are seeking ways to safely break the vows we made.”
The old man nods, seeming thoughtful. If he had a way out for us he would smile,
“I am genuinely sorry because I cannot be of help. A blood promise made under truthful convintions cannot be broken without great consequences, majesty. He answers. “With all due respect, I tried warning you about “Fenris cuts him shortL
“Truthful convictions? What does that mean exactly!” He questions
“It means that you were not blackmailed, fooled manipulated into making the promise” The old priest answers.
Sounds like there is hope for us afterall
“Well, our queen made us believe that she was kindest and wisest of women, when she had in fact cheated in the tests” Conrad points. “Does that invalidate the vows we made?”
“I am afraid it’s not that easy, your Majesty. You swore by your blood to forever love your queen, breaking those vows will need something you probably do have” The priest responds.
“We will find whatever is needed as long as it will restore our freedom to divorce our current queen.” I state firmly.
The old man hesitates for a long moment. In order for the blood promise you made to her to crumble you must enter into another, one that is stronger than the first and is made under truthful conventions” He explains
“That don’t sound hard to do.” Fenris says, a smile gracing his face.
We know enough good prople that we can make a binding promise to, especially one w

The priest shakes his head. “You don’t understand, sir. For the vows to be stronger they must be made to your true mate. Whom I understand you’re

Once again my heart throbs hard with shock
We did meet our mate, rejected her and now we cannot tell where she disappeared to. With our wealth and influence I have a feeling that finding her won’t be the hardest thing gening her to agree to have a blood promise with us will be almost impossible if not actually impossibile.
Having the chance to look at her face again is totally worthy the effort. Question is, where do we start? Sending out papers with drawings of her face
on them?
“If making a blood promise to her will rid us of our current queen, we will find her wherever she might be. I am prepared to grant her anything she asks for Conrad declares in a voice full of determination.
Fenris and I nod. At least we can still agree. Our three hearts have always reasoned like one.

We would be heavily delighted if she could just leave, but we all know that that wouldn’t happen. We have got to find our mate and persuade her to make a blond promise with us. She can dictate the terms of our promise and ask for anything, even a part of our wealth
