Chapter 49
Keira’s Pov
“I am not wearing a white dress,” I firmly state despite the pleading look on Margaret’s face
I agreed to marry my mates so I can make their wish and leave this place as soon as we make another blood pact to break the vows we will make
I made it clear that no one else needs to be there except me, them and a priest. There is no need to put on an exquisite white gown like I am excited to be marrying them. I am doing it so they do need to suffer the consequences of breaking the blood. promise they made with their queen.
After today they will be at liberty to divorce her. But I doubt she will just walk away without a fight. Marrying them has been the greatest achievement of her life. She won’t let go easily.
“You want to dress like a commoner on the day of your marriage?” Margaret questions with a frown.
There is no event, Margaret. I don’t need to put on a white dress to say a bunch of vows,” I answer.
She nods in understanding. “You look good anyway. I will escort you to the hall. The king’s council is already there,” she says. They did not mention that the council would be there,” I say in confusion
“A wedding has to have witnesses, Keira,” she reminds.
I did not want witnesses to our fake wedding. It’s embarrassing. Everyone knows why they are marrying me. And it will end after I make their wish.
I take one last sip of the tea that was brought with my special breakfast before leading the way out. My marriage to my mates is the complete opposite of the grand ceremony they had when marrying Lyna. I would be jealous if I thought that my mates are capable of loving anyone.
They did send the expensive dress and jewellery for me to wear. Another servant brought me a special breakfast as well. But that’s just their way making sure they will get what they want.
“So what happens after you marry them? No one apart from the council will even be aware that you’re the new queen,” Margaret questions as she follows behind.
“It will only last a short while. I need to be their queen to make a certain wish for them. Once it’s done we will end our wedding Vows and I will be free to leave.” I answer.
“It can’t just be a wish they want. They have just not realised that you’re more important than whatever it is they want,” Margaret says, “I suggest you give them more time.”
“No. I do not want to be as miserable as their queen.” I reply, picking up my pace.
Servants are going about their work as usual as we make our way to the huge hall in the second palace building. I am sure only the king’s council knows about the marriage that is about to happen.
I find my mates and their cousin, Lady Doria, waiting in front of the closed doors of the hall.
The lady smiles kindly as we approach. She offers her hand when I halt a step away from them.
“It’s an honor to meet you again, Keira. You have turned out to be rather special, I must say.” She compliments dryly as I shake her hand
Despite her smile. I see hate in her eyes. I let out a low gasp when she squeezes my hand a little too hard.
“Oh, sorry. My mind is a little distracted, she quickly apologises. “I was just telling your powerful mates that queen Lyna escaped from her cell. The guards found out this morning” she adds.
That sounds strange. No one can break out of a locked cell without making a lot of noise, unless she had some help
Chapter 49
Her escape is however none of my business.
“Once we are married we shall be able to banish her from this kingdom for good” Angel Garren tells, his gaze assessing tran from head to toe. “You didn’t wear the dress,” he observes.
“Once the blood pact we made with our queen is broken we will have time to arrange a more proper wedding Conrad says
“Yes, of course. We will have a divorce,” Angel Fenris finally agrees.
“Would you like to hold my hand?” Angel Conrad offers as we start walking towards the front.
“I am not blind, your majesty. I can clearly see the way, I reply.
His mare touch sends strange sensations throughout my body and I have to inhale deep to keep my mind focused.
One if the council members rises from his seat as soon we reach the platform.
“Your majestics… may I ask if Miss Hangings is going to be the queen of this kingdom from now on he questions in a
nervous voice.
“That is totally up to her to decide, Angel Garren answers. “We cannot keep her against her will.”
All eyes turn to me, staring expectantly like I owe them the decision. I am about to tell them the truth when the old priest
saves me the trouble,
“Miss Hangings has had many dramatic moments since she returned to thus kingdom. I think it is fair that we give her the time to experience our good values too,” he says and there is a chorus of agreement.
I look at the items on the table beside the priest and realize that there is a sharp knife. I had forgotten that drops of our blood
he required to make the new blood pact.
I may have tramed to be an warrior but I have always been afraid of being cut
