Everybody freezes around me and looks at the door. Jace steps towards me and I let out a warning growl. His face is telling me to calm down and I let out a sigh.
"Jace, has anyone found her?" I ask looking at him, he looks down at his feet and shakes his head.
"We've had search parties everywhere but nobody can find her anywhere. They can't go to far as there have been rogues chasing them back if they do go to far into neutral territory which is strange. Also there is no trance of her scent anywhere." Jace explains.
I sigh in annoyance this time and punch the wall. A guard pulls my away but I shove him off me, he backs off immediately.
"How?!" I growl out and start pacing on the top step.
"We aren't sure." Jace replies looking away from me "There was no rain last night so her scent hasn't been washed away. There is just no scent at all."
"Alpha." Tyson who has been here since I was by the border speak up for the first time. His face looks pale and he looks worse than Jace and I.
"Yes Tyson." I say turning to face him completely, he steps forward like he doesn't as to say whatever he has to say in front of everyone.
I motion for him to come over and he does. He stops a few steps away from me and looks down, he refuses to look at me.
"What about the emergency scent coving spray you keep? She told me you told her where you kept it." He says.
"Oh shit." I whisper, of course she did. I told her to only use it in emergencies as in; if we were being attacked spray yourself with it so you can escape with no trance so nobody can follow you and hurt you.
Suddenly someone pops up in my mind link, startling me.
'Alpha.' A guard I know named Paul who is now stationed on he Northern border mind links me.
'Yes.'
'You need to come to the Northern border immediately.' His voice shakes and my heart squeezes in my chest.
Before I can blink I find myself heading there with everyone in tow, everybody thinks I'm unstable so Jace ordered to make see someone is watching me at all times.
The walk seems long and haunting as we all walk silently, all dreading what we will find when we arrive.
I can feel everybody looking at me every once in a while but I keep my eyes in front of me.
We finally arrive and Jace grabs my shoulder to stop me in my tracks.
"What Jace?!" I say angrily, I just want to go and see what they found.
One guard hands me a note and I look at it helplessly. I grip it in my shaking hand while the other hand holds onto my mate.
I'll give you 3 months, then I'm attacking. Enough time to grieve? Good.
- Dark One
P.S it was a pleasure killing your mate.
I let out a long broken howl, arms grip me and pull me away but it doesn't take much. I'm numb, I can't feel anything at all.
I can feel my heart ripping apart in my chest as I watch them carry my mate away. My soul is cut away from me as she disappears into the trees.
She is gone. My mate is gone. I will never hold her in my arms again. I will never kiss her perfect lips again.
I will never call her my wife. I will never watch her walk down the aisle towards me. I will never go on a honeymoon with her.
I will never help her through pregnancy. I will never witness her strange cravings. I will never hold our children in my hands.
