Estelle's POV

At 1 a.m., I was lying in my own bed, turning over, with no intention of falling asleep. I buried my face in my pillow, still ashamed of the stupid things I had just said. But Lance didn't deny it, and his attitude confused me. He had wanted to kill me from the beginning, and I didn't know why he hated his mate so much, but he did appear to be protective of me now. These questions made me toss and turn and I couldn't sleep until early morning.

Life at school was as boring as usual. Ethan, who was keeping an eye on me, hadn't been around for a few days either, but luckily I had Mia with me. Mia was amazed at my physical ability.

"You don't fight at all like you don't have a wolf." Mia whispered to me.

"That's because someone is always picking on me, and if I don't want to get beaten up I have to fight back." I've suffered too much for that, but they always show up in droves when they realize they can't beat me.

As Mia and I reached the fifth lap, someone caught the eye of the entire training ground, and Skyler and her friend entered the training ground in a line. It was the first time Skyler had returned to the training ground after taking a few days off, and she still had that look of contempt on her face. skyler looked around the room, and sure enough, as soon as she saw me, she gave me a murderous stare.

Mia whispered in my ear. "Skyler got a bad rap from the coach the other day, and she should be mad as hell right now."

I didn't shy away from Skyler's gaze, "She deserved it."

"That's right, but she's got her eye on you."

"I'm not afraid of her."

Skyler didn't get to do much, she was watched very closely by her coach. I guess the punishment from the other day should have taught her a lesson. But by the time practice was over, I was waiting for Mia outside the locker room, and when she didn't come out, I had a bad feeling.

Sure enough, there was no one in the locker room. Then I returned to the training ground and Mia was blocked in the corner by Skyler. A low growl escaped her throat while Skyler looked at her with a smile.

"Are you trying to scare me? Puppy, clearly the tail is already pinned up."

"Get out of the way!" I shouted at Skyler.

"Did you come to her rescue?Aw, that was touching." Skyler looked back at me and thankfully she let go of Mia.

"Now that you don't have anyone to back you up, what are you going to do?" She walked up to me and raised her hand to slap me, and I caught the hand she was about to land on my face. Then with my other hand I yanked on her hair and her mouth immediately let out a gasp. Yanking hair is not a nice act in a fight, but it works really well.

Skyler's friends swarmed to free her hair from my hands, "You bitch!"

She was so enraged by me that I heard her teeth clink together. skyler's eyes turned golden and her canines were long and sharp. All of her friends around her backed up a few feet, and it looked like she had a history of going berserk.

Mia was set up by two girls, and she shouted from the side, "Let her go, you will be punished." But no one listened to her.

Skyler tackled me down with amazing speed and had her hands around my neck. I kicked her hard in the stomach before she got up off of me. But the kick didn't stop Skyler, she rushed up and swung her right fist up into my face and I raised my left hand to block her. It felt like the small of my left arm was going to break. Then Skyler hit me with a right hand to the ribs and I bent over in pain. I could win a few rounds in the training ring, but now I couldn't beat a crazy she-wolf.

Skyler yanked my hair to make me straighten up. Skyler's hand finally let go of me and she let out a roar of anger as she covered her nose. I was about to duck backwards when Skyler punched me in the corner of the mouth.

I tasted blood in my mouth and we both felt a chill as Skyler's other fist came up. Like a heavy pressure on our spines, Skyler's golden eyes slowly turned back to green. She calmed down out of fear.
