Dialing Kendra’s number while I was smiling like an idiot, though my hands were a bit trembling.

“Hey, Jada, why didn’t you go home last night? Where are you?” She continously asked.

“Hey please let me speak first.” I remained my voice in a low tone and tell her what happened.

“So you’re in Achilles’ condo now?” She asked hysterically.

“Yes, and I want you to get me out of here. I’m locked in a storage room.” I replied.

“Alright, but how am I supposed to do that?” She asked back.

“What the f*ck Kendra?” I grunted.

“Right, Caleb is here. He will help us.”

“What is the man doing there?” I asked.

“It’s not important for now Jada, but don’t you want him to help us? It’ll be easier for me to get inside his condo and help you.”

“Fine just go here fast before he kills me.” I shot back.

“He won’t do that.” A voice of a man escapes from the other line.

“Yeah right, he won’t do that.” I mocked him.

Hearing him chuckle first before Kendra speak.

“Wait for us. Don’t do anything stupid, Jada.” She warned before ending the call.

Thank God, I tried to open the door again but it’s still locked. How long does he want me to be jailed in here?

Or he won’t allow me to get out anymore? Like what I see in movies, those documentaries tackling women who got starved to death being chained in the basement. I gulped and shook my head, that won’t happen to me.

“Hey, Coleman I’m hungry!” I exclaimed right next to the closed door. I should know where he is or what is he doing so that it will be easy for them to analyze what to do.

I didn’t hear any response from him, but the door opened a bit and one of his goons put food next to me.

“Leave me alone!” I screamed but he didn’t even stiff and instead went out of the room like I didn’t scold him.

I was eating when I heard a voice outside.

“What are you doing here?” It’s Achilles’ voice.

I move closer to the door so I could hear their conversation.

“I was just visiting you cousin. I was bored at my unit, I need something to drink right now.” Caleb replied I’m sure it was him. I don’t know why my heart was beating so fast. I don’t have an idea what they’re planning to do, and I hope Achilles won’t notice.

“This is not you Caleb, don’t tell me that sh*t.” Achilles coldly stated. I thought this will be easy.

“Besides, do you think I’ve already forgiven you?” Achilles added.

“Oh c’mon dude, it’s been a week. Let’s move on.” Caleb replied.

After that conversation, I couldn’t hear anymore.

What happened? Did Achilles throw Caleb out using his window? Oh, he won’t do that, it was his cousin, right?

After another couple of minutes passed, I almost got myself asleep when the door slightly opened.

“Jada,” Kendra whispered. Hope fills me and glances at her.

“Kendra.”

“Sssh.Come.” She hold me in my arms and slowly dragged me with her out of the storage room.

I can’t help myself but glance at the living area and my eyes widen to see Achilles asleep while Caleb was sitting next to him reading a magazine.

“What did you to him?” I asked.

“Don’t worry he’s just asleep. You should go now before he got awake and you’ll surely be stuck with him forever.”

He’s right, he’ll be fine Jada. What am I thinking? I should be running right now. My jaw almost drop to see Achilles’ men tied on the corner near the door. Before I could answer, Caleb speaks again.

“You owe me one Turner.” He wink at me and waved his hand before Kendra finally dragged me out of the unit.

“Here’s the key to my car Jada, it was in the parking lot. The passport was in between the seat cushion.” She continously said while we were waiting for the elevator.

“How about you and Caleb?” I asked nervously.

“Don’t worry about us Jada, Caleb said Achilles was harmless.” She replied.

“I doubt it, come with me Kendra, I can’t leave you here.” I shot back, after what I witness last night, I will never trust him.

“Sssh. Just promise me you’ll stay safe, don’t worry I’ll send you things you’ll be needing when you get there. Go now.”

I hug her tight.

“Thank you,” I whispered before I completely get inside the elevator.

***

It’s been three weeks and Kendra didn’t miss a single week to send me money so I could live the expensive life here in the U.S. I’ve been hiding in her penthouse for that long, and this was a bit far from the city, so I find a bit peace. I didn’t know that it was good to be away from your family who pulls you down. I think that Coleman finally stop finding me as well, though I don’t know if it’s still safe to go back to my country without my friend’s supervision.

I put on a coat and wear my boots before I went out of Kendra’s penthouse. I have to do something. I look at my phone, it’s been 3 days as well but Kendra isn’t picking up her phone. She probably had a busy schedule, maybe I’ll take this opportunity to find a job.

My phone rang and as expected it was Trinity.
