When I woke up the next morning, I felt better. I wanted to go to Bronte's hut but Thane wouldn't let me. He kept on going on about how I visited the dungeons and how I had not gotten my punishment.

He further restricted my movement and confined me to my room for a whole week.

The day of my heat was three days away and I had become more antsy. Thane had suggested we go to his private cabin secluded in the forest.

We were to leave later today and he had forbidden me from stepping out of the room because my scent had become stronger and more alluring and he didn't want to kill any male today.

Still tossing on he bed trying to sleep, I heard sounds at the window. I looked downstairs and saw Lily struggling with somebody. I couldn't see the face of the person properly but they held her hands tightly.

Instinct kicked in and I ran out of the room and down the stairs. I rushed to where I had seen them standing and saw Noir yelling at Lily while she was struggling to get out of his grip.

I ran and slammed into him with all my strength. Because he was distracted, I managed to knock him down. I put myself between him and Lily, he had an angry scowl in his face.

"Luna. Step away" he said through gritted teeth. I noticed his eyes were different and his claws were out. He looked to be struggling with his beast.

"Esme it's fine"

"No it's not. He'll hurt you"

"He won't. Please"

"LUNA" his voice was now inhumane.

"No. I've asked you to stay away from her"

"SHE'S MINE"

"No she's not"

"Esme please" I stood unmoving between two of them.

"ESMERALDA"I looked up at the new voice. "Step away from them"

"No, I won't" Noir looked like he was loosing control with his beast and would strike at anytime. His eyes faded as he looked up and I knew he had lost the battle. He attacked and I blocked Lily with my body but the blow never came.

I turned and saw Thane holding him by his neck.

"Take her away" I hurriedly took Lily away, taking one glance at Noir to see him struggling with Thane.

I took her to my room and hugged her tight once we were behind closed doors.

"How have you been? I'm sorry for getting you into trouble.

"It's nothing"

"Is anything going on between you and Noir? If he's hurting you, you can tell me. I'll ask Thane to do something about it"

"There's no need for that" I raised my brows. "He can be scary at times but, he has never hurt me.
