I was freaking out inside this house. I woke up to the smell of coffee in the kitchen, but Samantha wasn’t with me on the couch. f got up, went to the kitchen, and found Hebe sitting on the stool by the window.
“Good morning, little brother! How are you?” Hebe looked at me if she was analyzing me.
“I’m feeling terrible, Hebe. Have you seen Samantha?” I wanted to know where she was; I wouldn’t accept her abandoning me because she felt insecure.
“Yes, I have.” Hebe pointed to the window. “She’s been out there for a while.”
“I’m going to talk to her.” I turned around to go to where Sam was sitting outside the house, facing the ocean.
“No, you’re not.” Hebe raised her voice slightly, making me stop. Sit down and have your coffee. She’s there to think, and you’re not going to interfere with her thoughts. That won’t help.”
Hebe made me sit down and placed a steaming cup of coffee in front of me. Then she filled two more cups with something hot and left the kitchen. I watched as my sister walked to Sam, and they started talking. I observed the scene, wishing I could be there with them and hear everything Sam was saying. I wanted to be able to take away every thought that was making her feel this way.
“So they’re sharing the spot,” Ed patted my shoulder. I was so focused on watching the scene through the window that I hadn’t
noticed him come in.
ค
“What did you say?” I asked, confused.
“Hebe sits on that rock and watches the ocean whenever she’s feeling down. She calls it her ‘healing spot‘. The ocean calms her, and she can think more clearly,” Ed explained while grabbing a cup of coffee and sitting next to me. “I know she talked about
this with Sam the last time we were here.”
“That explains a lot.”
Edward sat beside me, and we stayed there in comforting silence, watching our women from afar, sitting on a rock looking at the ocean. After what seemed like an eternity to me, they hugged, and Hebe walked calmly back to the house, but Sam stayed sitting there. Hebe came into the kitchen, put her hand on my shoulder, and gave me a gentle pat.
“Good morning, my love.” Hebe kissed her husband sitting next to me, and he wrapped his arms around her waist.
“I missed you,” Ed said, keeping his wife in his arms. “I always do
“I know.” Hebe smiled. “But I have work to do.”
“Why is she still out there?” I asked impatiently.
“Because that place is special, and she’s admiring the ocean,” Hebe answered. “Henry, go take a shower. She’ll come in soon. Be whole for her. Everything will be fine.”
I sighed and looked at my sister. She was right; I needed to be support for Sam, not a defeated and desperate man who couldn’t handle his own feelings. I got up, kissed my sister’s head, and went upstairs to take a shower.
I was in the shower when I felt a pair of hands touch my back and gently pull me into an embrace. How I missed those hands whenever they were away from me. I brought one of them to my lips and placed a kiss on it, then turned to face her and pulled her as close as possible.
“I missed you.” I borrowed Edward’s words – these simple words expressed everything wanted to say and everything I felt at that moment. I missed Samantha when she was away; she left a void in me when she was gone.
“I missed you too.” She stood on her tiptoes to kiss my lips. A sweet and gentle kiss.

“Don’t do that to ine again. I almost went crazy in one night.” I hell her tight in my arms,
“Me too. But Hebe made me understand that I saw things from the wrong perspective.” Samantha said, resting her head on my
chest.
“Hebe?” She nodded. “So I telling you that I love you, that I can’t lose you, and that you’re the woman of my life means nothing? “I asked playfully, and she chuckled softly.
“It means a lot. But I couldn’t hear it because I was too upset. There was a storm Inside me that drowned out all outside noise.” Sam explained, and I could understand how overwhelined she had been.
I pulled her away slightly so I could look into her eyes.
“Has the storm passed?” I asked anxiously.
