Henry’s POV

I was sitting in my company’s reception area telling Julia about the incredible trip I had with Sam when my phone rang – it was Patrick.

“Patrick, we just had lunch together. Not even my wife misses me this much,” I answered laughing, wondering what silly thing Patrick was going to say.

“Man, I love you!” Patrick said, but he didn’t sound as relaxed as usual. “Sam is okay…”

“What do you mean Sam is okay? What happened, Patrick?” All my internal alarm went off.

“Henry, something happened, but she’s fine. Flavian had police officers watching around the company, and Sam’s security guard acted quickly. But she was taken to the hospital.” Patrick was beating around the bush.

“Patrick, just tell me what happened,” I demanded while walking to the elevators, telling Julia I’d talk to frer later.

“Nicole showed up here looking for Sam, but Michael protected her. Whatever that crazy woman threw at Sam hit Michael instead. Nicole was arrested, and Sam fainted, so we thought it best to take her to the hospital,” Patrick summarized, but I needed to know about Sam.

“Patrick, which hospital?”

“Molina’s. We’re already on our way.”

“See you there.”

The elevator opened, and Melissa was about to exit with a big smile. I pushed her back inside and pressed the button. I told her what Patrick had just told me, and she became worried. In the parking lot, I realized I was too nervous.

“Girl, I need you to drive because I’m losing it,” I handed the car keys to Melissa and got in the passenger seat.

“Relax, Henry, I’ll get you there. I almost became a race car driver; we’ll get there before the ambulance,” Melissa said as she sat next to me. That didn’t sound good. “Put your seatbelt on and hold tight.”

She pulled the car out of the spot with a spin, and I immediately regretted giving her the keys. Melissa drove like a maniac through the streets – it was terrifying. We did arrive at the hospital before the ambulance, but I was so pale and shaky that the nurse thought I was the one who needed medical attention.

Soon after, the ambulance with Michael arrived, followed by another one with Sam. When the stretcher passed by me, I started running after it, shouting that she was my wife. The paramedics didn’t stop.

“Come with us,” was all one of them said, and I ran after the stretcher.

When we entered the emergency room and Samantha was transferred from the stretcher to the bed, I finally saw that she was awake. She looked at me with an expression that was a mix of fear and shock.

“Her blood pressure dropped. She’s okay, but she went through a traumatic situation, and since she’s pregnant, we brought her in,” one of the paramedics explained, and I thanked them. They left, leaving me alone with my wife.

“Sam, how are you?” I asked, approaching her.

“I’m okay, Henry, but I’m worried about Michael. Where is he?” Sam was genuinely concerned.

“They brought him here, and he’s being examined. I’ll let you know as soon as I hear anything,” I tried to calm her.

A nurse entered the room, and I told her that Sam was Dr. Molina’s patient. She said she would call him, but it wasn’t necessary

she was just leaving when he walked in.

“Kids! How are you?” Molina entered the room, already sanitizing his hands and putting on gloves. “Catherine called me and told me what happened. So, Sam, another scare, huh, girl! You better calm down so my grandchild doesn’t come before time.”
