Flavian’s POV

I didn’t care one bit about acting like a caveman when the little one started saying my concern for her safety was excessive~] just threw her over my shoulders and started walking. I would not leave her alone and would not miss the chance to have her close to me. I was killing two birds with one stone, and she would not ruin my mood.

As we got closer to my house, I could feel Manu getting tenser beside me. Was she going to reject me? I was not prepared for that.

We arrived home, and I started showing Manu around. In the bedroom, I put her things in the closet and showed her that I had left some space for her. Only then did she say something.

“There are three bedrooms here,” Manu stated the obvious, and looked at her, not understanding.

“So what?” I asked, confused, and watched her sigh and return to the bedroom, wringing her hands. I followed her and sat on the bed, waiting for what she had to say.

“So I don’t need to stay in your room. I don’t want to be a bother.” Could she have thought she would be just a simple guest in my house, occupying the room next door? Or was she going to reject me?

It was not possible that this little one was going to reject me. My head was spinning with a thousand arguments to convince her that it would be good for us to be together, but I couldn’t put them into a sentence. I clung to the possibility that she was just thinking she would be a simple guest.

“Seriously, Manu? Do I have to spell it out that I want to sleep with you? Are you telling me you haven’t thought about it?” That was all I could say; I didn’t want to think about the possibility of her not wanting me.

I watched her look at me with those two caramel eyes, and she took a deep breath, as if gathering courage for a battle. Suddenly she surprised me, jumped onto my lap, and held my neck, looking into my eyes with a determination that filled me with hope. I wrapped my arms around her slim waist and smiled, convinced she would be mine. But she would surprise me once more.

“Here’s the thing, big guy, I’m a virgin, and I had never kissed anyone before you, so yes, I’m totally inexperienced, but I want to kiss you again,” she said without stopping to breathe, and my brain froze, shocked by her revelation that she was a virgin and overjoyed to know that she wanted to kiss me again – I simply froze. “I knew it!”

Manu started trying to get away from me, but I snapped back to reality and held her firmly. I turned, throwing her onto the bed and hovering over her, trapping her legs between mine and holding her wrists above her head, careful not to hurt her but keeping her immobilized so she would stay still and listen to what I had to say. Actually, I had many questions, but I needed to be cautious.
