Flavian’s POV
It was Saturday, and to my joy, I was off work. I would have the whole weekend to spend with my little one, who was very excited to meet her friends since Alexander had invited everyone to spend the day at his house. Catherine had not been going out much because of her pregnancy and the threats she had been receiving, which I thought was great because I needed Melissa’s help.
My little one would have her birthday the following week, and I wanted to organize something really special. No one would be better to help me than that crazy Melissa with her outlandish ideas
At Alexander’s house, as soon as my little one got distracted with Samantha, I discreetly called Melissa over. “What’s up, detective! Don’t tell me you already messed up and need help?” Melissa said as she approached.
“Wow, Melissa, do I have no credit with you at all?” I asked, pretending to be offended.
“Oh, you still have credit, but considering your friends‘ track record, especially Henry’s slip–up with Sam, I’m suspicious. You guys only call me to solve problems.” Melissa was very funny, but she was right – Alexander and Henry had already caused trouble with the girls.
“Mel, I haven’t messed up and I won’t mess up. I’m different from these guys.” I pointed to the guys who protested
“Yeah, Mel, judging by the look on Manu’s face when she comes to the office every day, the detective is just like Fred,” Patrick came to my defense.
“Oh, so Bellwood is the haven of princes!” Melissa smiled. “Tell me, detective, how can I help you?”
“Next Saturday is my little one’s birthday, and I want to prepare something really special for her, it has to be a surprise,” I said excitedly, and Melissa frowned.
“Oh, detective, it has to be a surprise and you’re telling this in front of big–mouth Patrick? I don’t know if he can keep a secret.” Everyone laughed.
“Come on, Mel, you really think I can’t keep a secret?” Patrick complained.
“Pat, you’re only less of a blabbermouth than Enzo, Henry’s nephew. That kid is like a fountain spraying information everywhere.” Melissa responded laughing.
“Don’t complain, Patrick,” Alexander warned him. “You really do talk too much.”
“Patrick, are you going to keep quiet, or will I need to threaten you?” I looked at Patrick, who put his hands up.
“I swear I won’t tell anyone,” Patrick promised, and I would have to trust him.
“Leave it to me, detective, we’ll prepare something really nice for Little Key. Do you want a big party or just family and friends?” Melissa was already thinking – she was quick.
“Her birthday is on Friday, so I was thinking of having dinner with all of you and then spending a weekend just for the two of us, but I want it to be really special,” I told Melissa, who smiled contentedly.
“Well, detective, Little Key really got to you, didn’t she?” Melissa asked, but she already knew the answer, so I just smiled. “I’ll help you, and she’s going to love it.”
Melissa and I agreed to have lunch together on Monday to sort everything out. I was quite confident that I would make my little one’s day very special. I already had some ideas, but I needed Melissa to make them unforgettable.
It was already late when we left Alexander’s house, my little one seemed tired, and I was eager to get home and be alone with her. As soon as we entered the apartment, I pulled her into my arms and kissed her, holding her tight in an embrace.
I was yearning for her. She wrapped her arms around my neck, and I pinned her against the door.
“You know I’ve been missing you? I had to share you with your friends all day, and you’re wearing these shorts that show off
