Manuela’s POV

I was very upset with Flavian for the way he spoke to Sam, but in the end, I understood his concern for my safety. I couldn't stay mad at him for long anyway. I missed him; I'd spent just one night away from him and was already longing for his presence.

I opened the apartment door determined to resolve this situation - I wouldn't stay mad at him. He had already apologized to Sam. When I looked around, the apartment was completely dark, which I found strange since Flavian should have been home. I glanced around but saw nothing, went to the kitchen, and it was all dark. I went to the bedroom, but Flavian wasn't there.

"How strange! I wonder if he hasn't arrived yet?" I asked myself.

I left my purse in the closet and took off my shoes, leaving them there. I went to the bathroom, took a shower, and put on one of his shirts. I missed him so much that I wanted to smell his scent, so I wore his shirt. It was past his usual arrival time. I was going to call him. I grabbed my phone and dialed his number.

"Hi, little one!" He answered on the fourth ring with a sleepy voice.

"Big guy, are you okay?" I was worried; his voice sounded strange.

"Yes. I think I fell asleep. Where are you?"

"At home. And you?" I heard a noise through the phone, a rustling sound as if he was getting up, but he didn't answer me. "Flavian?" He remained silent for a few seconds, and the call dropped.

"I'm right here, little one." I felt his hand on my waist and turned to look at him. "I came home early, I missed you, lay down in the room where you slept, and fell asleep smelling your scent on the pillow."

"Flavian..."

"I was waiting for you. I can't, little one, I can't be like this, with you sleeping in the other room, upset with me. I can't be without you, little one." Flavian lifted me up to his eye level. His voice seemed like a desperate plea. "Forgive me, little one! Please forgive me! I was an idiot to Sam, but I'm irritated and worried about these threats, I'm afraid something might happen to you. I love you, Manu, I can't lose you. I love you in a way I didn't even know was possible to love."

"What did you say?" I asked, stunned, and he looked deep into my eyes.

"I said I love you, Manuela! My heart beats for you, I've waited my whole life for you, I was made for you. I can't lose you, my little one. I love you!"

Tears were running down my face without me even noticing. I clung to his neck and kissed him, floating with those words I had been waiting to hear for so long. I felt a joy that could barely contain itself. He held me tight in his arms, simply giving his heart to me in a kiss.

"Do you forgive me, love?" He asked once more. I was so filled with happiness that I could barely articulate any words because of the huge smile on my face. "Manu, talk to me." He looked at me confused.

"My love! Do you have any idea how long I've waited to hear that? I love you so much, Flavian, that sometimes I feel it's going to overflow from me. You won't lose me, you'll never lose me, because I love you too and I can't exist without you." Finally, I could declare all my love for him.
