Flavian’s POV

That situation had been the last straw for my indignation. My sister was in trouble, and I needed to help her somehow. I was completely irritated and started speaking loudly, hoping they would wake up from this forced marriage delusion.

"Don't you two realize what you're doing?" I said indignantly as soon that irritating William left. "He's going to make Lexie suffer. He will never give up his irresponsible daddy's boy lifestyle. He will never treat her with respect. Do you know how many women he has already abused? Do you want my sister to be one of them?"

"Lower your voice, Flavian. This isn't that filthy police station!" My father spoke as loudly as I did. "I've already told you, your sister's marriage is none of your business. But yours is. And you better return to Bellwood and get back to your wife."

"Not even if hell freezes over!" I replied. "I don't know how the divorce decree was nullified, but I'll get divorced again!"

"What for, Flavian? To continue your little adventure with that young woman? Do you realize you're being unfaithful to your marriage?" It was my mother's turn to speak.

"IT'S NOT A LITTLE ADVENTURE!" I shouted, but my mother didn't back down.

"DON'T YELL AT ME." My mother confronted me face to face. "What happened, Flavian? You were in love with Sabrina. She left, and you were devastated. Now she's back, she wants to start over with you, make up for lost time. I thought you would be happy about this." My mother spoke as if she really knew everything, as if she was certain about what would make me happy.

"Mom, Sabrina was an illusion. We got divorced, and she left with a nice fortune she got from this marriage. If she's back now, it's because there's some interest, and it's not me." That was really what I thought. I wasn't falling for this nonsense that she liked me, not anymore.

"Flavian, she's changed, she's got her head straight. She swore to me that she's sorry, that she loves you. She wants to have children with you. You can build a happy family, fill this house with my grandchildren." My mother was obsessive about this grandchildren business.

"Mom, Sabrina doesn't love me, she's just interested in something. Please, you're not that naive!" I complained.

"So what, Flavian?" My father asked. "Even if she has some interest, at least you're married to a beautiful woman who's your equal and whom you like. It's not a sacrifice. You can have a good life together." My father's concept of sacrifice only included his interests and no one else's.

"I'll say this for the last time. You're my parents and I love you, despite being so inflexible and thinking you're always right, but I will never get back with Sabrina, just like I will never go back to the company. Disinherit me, father, disown me, but I won't condemn my happiness to please you." I was very clear.

"You don't know what you're saying." My mother lamented, but I couldn't hold back.
