The journey back felt endless. I was certain my father was plotting something and that he would try to interfere between Manu and me. I urgently needed a damage control plan. In the end, visiting my parents hadn't helped at all. I was missing my little one and now felt an absurd fear of losing her.

I arrived home tense and nervous. She was waiting for me, with dinner already set on the table. Without saying a word, I grabbed her by the waist, lifted her off the ground, and kissed her urgently, with a bit of desperation and a heavy heart. She returned the kiss with equal intensity and wrapped her legs around my waist.

I couldn't think of anything else; I just needed to be inside her and feel her as mine. I had her pinned against the wall and felt urgent need for her.
