Apprehended By My Mate novel Chapter 22

"I just- I want to kill him for ever laying a hand on my mate." My wolf surfacers at the thought of Derek touching Clare. Even the sound of his name leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.

"I know Conner but you don't know the whole story." I sigh getting my wolf back under control. My poor mate has been through so much. When she broke down today I heart broke with hers. When she started screaming bloody murder I didn't know what to do. When Felix, Ivy and half the house came running in I was more lost than ever. Then she started yelling his name, saying no over and over again, muttering some promise that I didn't understand. I knew she was terrified of this man and when I found out it was her ex-mate I nearly lost it in front of her and Grace.

"I don't know what to do Felix." I rest my head in my hands truly lost for the first time in my life.

"Keep giving her time Conner. She opened up a little today. I believe that what you said to her she believed. She wants to trust you Conner you can see she wants to be with you, but her fears are holding her back. Be patient." Felix smiles as he seems impressed with himself

"Damn if only Ivy was here to hear what I just said. I sounded like her." That got a laugh out of me before there was a knock at the door. A second later Ivy came into the room holding Grace.

"Clare is in your room sleeping at the moment. She woke up for a bit but went back to sleep." I smile a Grace who smiles back.

"Thank you Ivy. I just wish it could be me that is able to comfort her." I feel Ivy come over and place her small hand on my shoulder.

"I can feel a little of her pain Conner. Her wolf talks to me even though she is weak. I can feel there pain Conner. They want to trust you but it's hard. She has gone through so much Conner just take your time. Earn her trust first, than let her heal before you love her the way I know she wants to be loved."

Trust, heal and love. I think about Ivy's words later as I stare down at my broken yet beautiful mate and daughter who are fats sleep in my bed. I want to join them both so bad but I know that is not possible. I grab some sheet and a pillow out the cupboard and set up a bed on the lounge. I face my sleeping angels and fall asleep with Ivy's words running through my head. Trust, heal and love.

"Morning Luna." They all say at the same time with a smile on their face. I can feel their eyes watching me as I take a seat with Grace. One women walks up and place food in front of us and I smile up at her.

"Thankyou." I whisper shocking her with the fact that I spoke. I feed Grace and listen to the conversation flowing around the table. I take a few small bite of toast before I claim myself full.

"What do you think Clare?" I wasn't listening and look up to Ivy with a frown.

"Sorry, I wasn't paying attention." Ivy give me warm smile before nodding.
