Apprehended By My Mate novel Chapter 31

"Grace is much better. I told Clare this morning and she took it better than we thought." Felix looks at me with a shocked face.

"She jumped on me and said thankyou." I smile at how both my wolf and I loved the feeling of having her in our arms this morning.

"That's a surprise." We both nod and I look over at the huge map on his desk.

"I am trying to work out which pack Clare came from so I marked out every pack around us." Felix says running his hands through his hair. I look at all the pack borders. This is going to take a long time.

"So from what we know is Clare was a rogue for a year. She was running so she would have travelled. So let's look at the pack the furthest away. I don't want to contact anyone yet until we are 100% sure." I nod at Felix knowing that he has slipped into the role of Alpha, so I slip into the role of Beta and we begin.

Clare

After Conner left I sat in the bed not knowing really what to do. When Conner told me that he had to mark Grace I knew that if anything were to happen to me she would have the bond with Conner.

"Food." Grace says and I laugh getting herself and I ready. I walk out of Conner's room and into the kitchen where Karen and Lucy are.

"Good morning Clare. How is Grace?" I put Grace down to play and turn to Karen.

"She is good, all thanks to Conner." Both the girls smile as they fix both Grace and I up with some breakfast. The girls talk about an upcoming shopping trip while I feed Grace.

"You not eating Clare?" Lucy is the first to pick up that I haven't touched a single thing on my plate.

"Umm eating makes me sick." I look down ashamed with myself. Karen places her hand on my shoulder and I look up to see her looking at me with a sad smile.

"How about you try just a little?" I sigh knowing these two won't give up. I take a small bite of the porridge and know straight away that it won't stay down. The moment hits the back of my throat I am out of my chair bringing it back up. Once I am finished I rinse my mouth out and turn to face both the girls who are holding a plain piece of toast.

"Does Felix and Conner know about this rogue being here?" He growls again causing me to start backing up away from these people.

"Momma." They all look at Grace as I pick her up into my arms ready to protect her if needed.

"David calm down, I am sure this young lady doesn't mean any harm." The women places a hand on Ivy's dad and I see him relax.

"Sorry I am Mary and this is David. We are Ivy's parents." She takes a step closer to me and I become terrified that my body is shaking in fear. I see her frown and look at Ivy who is watching me. We all hear a commotion and we all turn and face a frantic Conner. When his eyes land on us he come sprinting over stopping right before us.

"Clare are you ok?" My body is still shaking and I give a weak head nod. I watch as Conner's eyes darken and He faces David and growls.

"What the hell did you do to her?" Conner takes a protective stance in front of us ready to attack Ivy's father. Felix comes into the room tackling Conner to the ground and they are both fighting until Felix pins Conner to the floor.
