Apprehended By My Mate novel Chapter 41

"Clare." I call out but hear nothing in return. I start to run shouting out her name. The smell becomes so strong and I am running so fast I almost missed her sitting up against a tress butt naked.

"Clare, oh my god. Open your eyes for me baby." I crouch down to her level scared to touch her. She looks like a frozen princess. Her skin is slightly blue, her body is shivering and her lips are blue. Her eyes flutter open and I see brown ones staring back at me.

"Someone get me a blanket." I shout as my father comes over with the blanket I bought. I place it around her shoulder to try and keep her warm.

"Clare stay awake for me. Think of Grace who is waiting at home for you." I pick her up and gasp at how cold her skin feels. Sparks are running all through my body but I don't have time to think. I need to get Clare warm.

She snuggles into my chest trying to get warm. I all but run back as Clare bounces in my arms. My father, the trackers and warriors are following closely behind.

"We are almost there Clare, Just hold on for me, for Grace." That is the last thing I say to her as her body goes limp in my arms.

"Clare." I yell out but I get no response. I speed up and mind link Felix as we get closer.

"Felix I found Clare. We need a hot bath ready, she has been in the cold all night without any cloths and is suffering from hyperthermia."

"On it right now." I cut off my mind link and rush into the house up to our room. I walk in to see the pack doctor, Ivy and Felix.

"Oh my god she is so blue." Ivy covers her mouth in shock as I walk into the bathroom. I slowly lower Clare into the tub making sure the blanket is still covering her. The female doctor comes over and shakes her head.

"I am glad you are both back." I say goodbye to my mother and father as they both walk out the room hand in hand.

I draw my attention back to Clare who is fast asleep with me spooning behind her. I rest my head in her neck inhaling her sweet scent before allowing myself to sleep.

I am in a dreamless state. Everything around me is white and hot, very hot. I try calling out but I hear nothing. It is just planes of endless white. I keep walking forward hoping to find some colour amongst all this white. I feel a darkness following me, but when I turn all I see is white. I keep propelling forwards as the darkness follows behind.

I can feel the darkness creeping upon me as I walk faster trying to get away. I look behind me and freeze in my spot when I see Derek standing there amongst all the white covered in a thick, dark, red blood. I turn my whole body around to see him smirking with his arms wide open. Blood is dripping off his fingers tip staining the pure white floor.
