The next hour is the worst hour of my life. I don't know what to do with myself. Clare hasn't come back but Ivy keep reassuring me that everything is fine.
"Conner stop your bloody pacing, it is giving me a headache." Felix grumbles rubbing his forehead. We are in his office trying to work out which pack Clare came from.
"Something's not right." I say as I still continue to pace. "It's been an hour and she is not back yet." I hear Felix groan as I run my finger through my hair.
I eventually get kicked out of Felix's office because I wouldn't stop pacing. I was getting more and more worried as the hours ticked by. Clare still hasn't come back.
My parents came back with Grace who went straight into my arms.
"Was she good for you?" I ask putting her on my hip as I looked at my parents.
"Yes, just an angel. She slept on the way over here so she might be up for a bit." I nod my head and use my other hand to run my fingers through my hair yet again.
"What wrong Conner?" My mother ask as I go and sit in the lounge room. Grace wants to play so I put her down on the floor.
"Clare and I were talking and she got upset and she went for a run. She hasn't come back yet and I am starting to worry." I slump in the seat and allow my shoulders to sag as worry eats away my insides.
"What is your wolf saying son?" Dad says placing a hand on my knee. I allow my wolf to come forward who is a ball of mess much like myself. He feels as if something is wrong. He can't feel Clare's wolf, with the sun starting to set and the cool whether approaching fast he is extremely worried for our mate.
I settle my wolf back down inside of me and I mind link Felix.
"Alpha, Clare has yet to come back and with night approaching I am become worried and so if my wolf. I would request some warriors and some trackers to come out with me to find my mate who has been missing since morning." I put in my request and I wait a minute before Felix come into the room with us.
"Clare is still not back." He looks around as if she is magically going to appear.
I start to go into a state of panic. It is cold and if Clare isn't in her wolf from-
"Goddamn it!" I punch a tree and I hear the crunch of my knuckles against the bark. Pain radiates through my hand and up to my shoulder. "Crap!" I shake my arm, my hand throbs as the bones re-heal them self.
"Conner clam down, we are going to find her I promise you." My father says grabbing me by the shoulders. He may be old but don't underestimate his strength.
"I found her scent again." We keep following the tracker and my feet become sluggish, but I won't stop until I know Clare is safe.
"Beta, we are coming up to the border lines." I swear under my breath as my teeth chatter slightly.
"Keep going until we find her." We walk and I can see the sun starting to rise. We have been out all night and still no sign. I take a deep breath and the smell of Clare hits me hard.
