He is just like me Clare and you know it, so come home. He doesn't want.

I grab my head as the ragging battle inside my head leaves a throbbing pain that could make a grown man fall to his knees.

"I don't know Conner." I sob as my wolf breaks away and tries to comfort me. I lift my head to see the sadness in Conner's eyes and the pain that he doesn't hide quickly enough.

"I am sorry, I am so sorry." I jump up and run towards the door not been able to take the look of Conner's face, the look of disappointment and disgust.

"Clare what's the matter?" Ivy ask as I run past her in a blur of tears. I rush outside and run through the forest start the painful process of shifting into my wolf. When I become my grey wolf I run leaving a trail of tears and heartache behind me.

I don't know where I am but I am tried. I don't know if I am still in Alpha Felix territory or not. I collapse onto all fours resting my head between my paws and cry. I somehow shift into my human form and curl in on my naked body rocking back and forth. I lean against a tree as the harsh bark cuts into my skin.

The weather starts to change as night descends. The air becomes cool as the dew starts to settle in. I try to shift back but I find myself unable to. I try to contact my wolf to find she is not there. I begin to shiver as the cool air attacks my naked form. I pull myself into a tight ball trying to keep what little warmth I have contained.

As I sit shaking in the cold night I think back to the events of this morning. I wonder what Conner is doing at this moment? Thinking about Conner makes my chest hurt. It makes me want to run back into his arms and apologies for not being the mate who can trust or love him.

I thought I was doing well over these past few weeks, getting closer to Conner and his parents. Talking more to other people in the pack, allowing myself to start to gain some trust with the pack but most of all finding myself enjoying my time with Conner and Grace. Grace.

I about my little girl, hoping that she is warm and safe. Silent tears escape my dry and starchy eyes. As the night wears on I no longer feel the cold. I feel numb. I try to keep myself awake but find sleep more compelling each time I re-open my eyes.

The next time I re-open my eyes the sun is peaking through the sky as it takes it leisurely time to wake up and take over the night. I can no longer feel my body but I don't care.

"Clare!" I hear someone shout and I hear the sound of feet and paws hitting the ground. "Clare!" I close my eyes as I cannot move any other part of my body.

"Conner what did you do?" Ivy questions but I don't have time for her. I push past her when she ask me again, however using her Luna voice.

"What did you say to Clare Conner?" I had no choice but to obey and I turned back to face her.

"I DON'T KNOW IVY!" I yell. The moment I realised what I had done I bow my head in respect as I apologise.

"We were talking, well she was telling me why she couldn't love me or let me love her. God Ivy, Derek that bastard broke her. He made her believe that love is abusive, cruel and cold." I look down at the floor wondering how am I going to prove to Clare that I am not the monster and show her what love is meant to be like. How can I do that when she won't even trust me?

"She will come back Conner, just give her an hour to herself to think things over." She pats my shoulder and walk off to find Felix.
