Before Silas' return I was certain that my father would win in a fight against Silas, but now I was not so sure anymore. There was something about Silas I could not put my finger on, but it let me believe that Silas would now be the winner if a fight between my father and him would ever take place.

I sighed, not wanting to worry about anything that had not even happened yet. Only the future would tell us what would actually happen. For now Silas was here and he was safe - that had to be enough.

Silas had then driven directly to the Crescent Moon pack, hoping that they would know who this eyeball belonged to.

Just looking at it made my stomach feel squeezy and I backed away from the table where someone's eyeball was currently observed by everyone else.

I took deep breaths because just the thought of my father cutting an eyeball out of one of his enemies made me physical sick. I had always known that my father was a killer and was more than glad that he had never wanted me to accompany him on one of his many battles. Due to the fact that I had never seen my father killing someone right in front of my eyes, I had never imagined him torturing someone, always thinking that death came quickly by my father's wolf, but I had to admit that it fit. Just remembering the one time he had killed mates because they had the same gender made me believe even more in my father's cruel behaviour.

Melina took a seat beside me and gently stroke my back. "You okay?"

I nodded my head and responded, "Just a lot to wrap my head around."

When she remained silent, I turned my head and noticed uncertainty in her gaze.

"You know, when I saw how furious Silas was when he arrived I just instinctively knew that we had to get you.", I told her smilinglyl trying to cheer her up.

"You did?", she asked surprised.

I shrugged my shoulders. "Honestly, I don't know how I didn't realize it sooner, you two are perfect for each other."

Melina's hazel eyes looked so hopeful when she told me, "So it doesn't bother you that I'm Silas' mate?"

Confused I looked at her. "Why should it bother me?"

Uncertainly she shrugged her shoulders and whispered, "It's just that you've told me so much about your brother, how he's your hero and protector that I feel a bit..", she quieted her voice even more, "inadequate to be his mate."

My eyes instanly sought out Silas, but fortunatelly he was in a deep discussion with Lennart. I breathed a sight of relief, because if he had heard Milena talking about herself like this, she would have another thing comming.

So I tried to reassure her. "Milena, I couldn't imagine a more perfect mate for Silas. You're the one who has most taken care of me since I'm here. You always make sure that I'm okay and you instantly realize when I'm not and try to cheer me up."

Milena softly smiled at me and I continued, "You're also one of few people I trust enough to confide in, even about me being highly sensitive and my panic attacks."

She squeezed my hand then and I knew she understood.

"How can you not see it? It's the palest green I've ever seen.", I whispered.

Was I going crazy? I checked once more if I was able to see the eye colour and when I still could, I folded my arms in order to hold myself.

The others would certainly think I was just talking nonesene.

But it was there.

I started to shiver not being able to find an explanation as to what was happening.

"Did you say pale green?", Lennart wanted to know then and I slowly nodded my head.

It was silent for a few moments, not a sound to be heard as we awaited Lennart's next words.

"Love, do you remember the witch who came on Levin's and Nathan's fifth birthday?", he suddenly asked Levke who looked deep in thought as well.
