What Happens in Chapter 47 – From the Book The Brutal Alpha's Tender Daughter
Dive into Chapter 47, a pivotal chapter in The Brutal Alpha's Tender Daughter, written by Mamie Albert. This section features emotional turning points, key character decisions, and the kind of storytelling that defines great Internet fiction.
I had no idea if Faith had known her mate before he died, or if she had just felt one day that he was gone, but my respect for her grew instantly and I admired her strength. Lots of werewolves who lost their mate could not control their inner wolf any longer and therefore went rouge. But not Faith. The most shocking part was that she was able to care for someone else when most wolves would not even be able to take care of themselves anymore.
It took me a long time to finally fall asleep that night, but when I finally did my dreams were full of scenarios losing Nathan.
The next morning I said goodbye to the kids and Faith after breakfast and made my way to the pack house. It was not easy to see their sad faces and to wipe away their tears, but I knew that I had to find Daria. I had packed the previous day so I just had to take a shower and change.
"Are you okay?", Milena worriedly wanted to know when I met her outside the pack house where the boys were currently loading our bags into the trunks of the cars. She had probably seen the dark circles under my eyes. Instantly my eyes were drawn to her neck, where Sila's mark now was and I screamed excitedly.
Milena laughed, but could not help herself so she joined in when I giggled like crazy and hugged her.
"Now you're officially my sister!", I told her happily and saw her eyes soften.
"What's going on here?" Silas had appeared beside us and looked confused between us. On his neck was Milena's mark, something not all male wolves had, and I hugged him while whispering into his ear, "I'm so happy for you big brother!"
In the werewolf society it was a big deal if both mates wore a mark as it showed their equality. In the Mercy pack it was custom that only the female wolf bore the mark of her mate, as the male was always considered to be the more powerful one. I had never agreed with this tradition and it made me incredible happy that once again Silas and I thought alike.
Silas hug on me tightened and he said, "Now we're going to make sure that you'll get your happily ever after."
A lot of Crescent Moon pack members had taken an interest in me and my old pack as all of them had heard terrible stories about our pack and unfortunately I had to confirm them all. A lot of them had not believed me at first, because to my delight they just could not believe that someone like me had grown up as a part of the cruel Mercy pack. They saw me as a kind and sensitive person, but here in the Crescent Moon pack those personality traits were not considered weaknesses, but strengths as it showed them that I was compassionate and empathic.
When I told Dr. Clairence about my discovery I could feel her delight that I was finally accepted by my peers.
However, I also realized that I did not want the Crescent Moon pack members taking the Mercy pack rumors lightly. The Mercy pack was dangerous, cruel and bloodthirtsy. So I had elaborated how my old pack lived, trained and which rules we obeyed to. The pack members eyes had grown wide. I had been able to feel their belief in all that was rumored about the Mercy pack and had thought that would change their mind about me as well. However, to my surprise most pack members expressed their relief that I was now part of the Crescent Moon pack, as I fit better with them. And finally I had realized that they were right, I finally fit somewhere where I could be me and was accepted.
Sia was more or less the same as the other Crescent Moon pack members except that she was even more intrigued with life in the Mercy pack. Maybe this fact bothered Silas the most, because he of course knew first hand how life in the Mercy pack had been and it had never been good. I on the other side was not upset about Sia's curiosity at all as it seemed to me that they were still people who admired the Mercy pack and I answered Sia's question in detail in order to make it very clear that the Mercy pack should not be marvelled at.
