Quickly we arrived at the waterfall and shifted into our human form before we exited the deep woods. Silas and Oliver quickly checked our surroundings for any humans, but when they gave us the sign for the all clear, Sia and I were the first to march towards the waterfall.
"Did you see Daria actually walking through the waterfall?", Sia then asked me and I shook me head.
"No, her mom just wanted her to seek shelter there."
Sia nodded, having seen apparently the same scene I had.
There was no actual trail to the waterfall so we took the rather narrow shore to reach it. I could see an opening behind the waterfall and let instincts lead me towards it.
Once inside the opening, which looked more like a cave I opened my backpack to fetch the box which contained Daria's eye.
"Where to now?", Levin asked and looked expectantly at Sia and I.
I shrugged my shoulders feeling like an idiot, because I had no idea how to enter Daria's world.
"Lets just all search for something that looks like an opening.", Milena suggested and I shot her a grateful glance.
I walked further into the cave while the others stayed close to the waterfall. Every stone wall seemed to look the same, which made me sigh in frustration when I suddenly scanned an area which made my fingers tingle.
"Sia.", I called her because I was almost sure that we could not find a witch's hideout without a witch.
She appeared at my side and when Sia's hand covered the spot where my hand had just been her eyes widened.
"I've never felt stronger magic before.", she whispered.
The others had gathered around us and with a deep breath Sia started to push the stone wall. All of a sudden I felt a breeze engulfing us, which was so strong that I had to close me eyes.
When I was finally able to open them again I found myself in the exact same spot I had been a few days earlier. Snow was still falling heavily and I could see Daria's cottage although the sun had already set.
"Told you it was real!", Sia declared and clapped her hands excitedly.
While the others marvelled at their surroundings I walked towards Daria's cottage and shortly before I could knock on her door someone grabbed me from behind.
"Let me do that.", Oliver said and I was surprised when I realized that he was concerned about me.
I smiled slightly, but I knew deep inside that Daria would never hurt me or any of us.
Oliver locked eyes with all of us making sure that we were ready and then knocked.
Instantly the door opened and Daria looked confused at Oliver.
"Who are you?", she wanted to know in an accusing voice.
Daria's eye focused on Levin then and shock was clearly noticeable in her face when she saw him.
She sighed and her gaze fell to the floor.
"I can help you find your brother and I can even tell you what happened the night he was kidnapped, but I need my eyeball for it.", Daria told us.
Everybody seemed to be in some kind of paralysis by her words and I used this distraction to steal the box from Silas hand and extended it to Daria once again.
She smiled gently at me, took the box, much to Silas protest behind me, opened it and gasped.
"It's really here.", she marvelled and took the eyeball into her hand.
For the next seconds I averted my gaze as Daria lifted her eye patch and inserted her eyeball again.
I could feel energy radiating from her body and quickly asked myself if it was possible to lose ones magic by losing an eyeball.
I felt more than saw Daria changing right in front of my eyes. Gone was her wild grey hair and her wrinkled face. She was now an attractive looking woman seemingly in her forties.
"Wow, I want to learn that!", Sia whispered beside me.
When Daria's change was over she breathed a sigh of relief and then took my face into both of her hands. I could feel Silas directly behind me, but I knew I was safe.
