As much as I believed in Silas and his strength, I also knew our father and his expercience in fights exceeded Silas'.
A whimper escaped me just thinking about it and I really hoped that once Silas was back, he would not challenge our father.
I shook my head to get it free from all this negative thoughts and started to dry my still wet hair.
Suddenly my father's voice boomed though our mind link.
"My office, now!"
Fuck!
I felt my heart pick up its speed and my breathing becoming labored.
I could count the times I had been ordered to come to my father's office on one hand and it had never been a good outcome for me.
Looking my reflection in the eyes I willed myself to take deep breaths.
Then I pulled my hair into a bun, dressed in something appropriate and left my room.
There was really no time for me to be in panic, because the later I arrived at my father's office the more severe my punishment would turn out.
I was on autopilot now, not allowing any of my thoughts to stay long.
"Now you're allowed to worry", my wolf whisperered in my mind and a crazed laugh escaped my lips, because worry was definitely not a feeling I was experiencing right now.
However, dread, despair and helplessness fit.
I was literally at the mercy of the Alpha of the Mercy pack and everbody knew we had none.
My heart was beating a tattoo and I knew I had to get it under control.
Once I stood in front of my father's office door, I took another deep but very quiet breath.
My right hand rose to knock on his wooden door and I saw how bad it trembled.
I clenched my fist and knocked.
"Just get it over with and you can go", I tried to tell myself.
"Enter", came his immediate reply and I followed.
Just by entering the room I felt that something was terribly wrong.
My eyes were trained on the carpet, to show my father respect, but I could feel his rage.
"You wanted to see me, Alpha", I tried to say in a strong voice.
As much as I wanted to tell him that I did it to ensure he had enough men and women for the upcoming war, I did not dare to. I had learned that the hard way.
Abruptly my father turned around and walked to the big window overlooking the pack.
His back was now to me and just with his stance you were able to notice his power.
"You know what happens now, don't you?"
"Yes, Alpha", I instantly responded and could feel cold sweat breaking out on my back.
My wolf cowered in a corner in my mind yet again and I felt even more helpless knowing she would feel my punishment as well.
"Come over here", I heard his cold voice.
As sad as it sounded, I knew exactly what he wanted me to do.
So I walked roboticly the few steps until I reached his desk and pulled my tshirt over my head.
Then I bend over the desk until I heard my father pulling out the whip from his desk. A smell, I had never smelt before accompanied it, but I did not dare to rise my eyes from the inscription on the table.
My wolf howled in my mind knowing exactly what was now to come and I tried to swallow around the lump in my throat.
"This will remind you to never help anyone ever again", his harsh voice boomed behind me and I heard the whip cracking in the air before it came down on my back.
