When I entered the dining room only Levin was already seated and he shot a smirk my way.

"You're a meanie.", I told him with an accusing finger pointed his way and Levin laughed.

I felt Nathan before I saw him and instantly my head turned in his direction. He wore fitted dark jeans and a grey shirt that almost made me drool as I could see his abs through it.

As if he could feel how much I wanted to be close to him, Nathan instantly pulled me close to him and drew me into a kiss, which had fireworks appearing behind my eyes.

"EW, get a room.", Levin commented from behind us, but Nathan did not let that bother him. His eyes were locked with mine and he only muttered, "You're just jealous."

"Why should I? I've kissed Sophia too.", Levin cheekily responded.

My eyes widened and I could instantly feel the change in Nathan's body.

"WHAT?", he roared and closed the distance between him and a scared looking Levinl

A furious Nathan walked towards a wide eyed Levin and I seemed to be frozen in place. I had not thought about telling Nathan about Levin's and mine kiss, because for me it did not even count as I had not reacted to it at all. However, now I could see how wrong I had been with this assumption and regretted it deeply.

Levin's pleading eyes got me to move again and quickly I hurried to Nathan until I was standing in front of him.

I could feel the anger rolling off of him in waves, but I was not scared of him. I could never be.

Gently I cupped his face between my hands and softly told him.

"I wasn't even a peck, just his lips on mine for mere seconds."

However, that did not appease Nathan as his eyes turne even darker. I pulled his face closer to mine so that he had to focus on me an tried again. "I was frozen and now I know that this was, because it didn't feel right. When we kissed for the first time I instantly reacted, because your kiss consumed me, it made fireworks appear behind my eyes and fire was coursing through my veins."

Nathan's eyes started to return to his original colour and I breathed a sight of relief. His gaze was still intense, but when was it not.

"Damn straight.", he huskily whispered and crushed me to his chest. His lips descended on mine and I knew he wanted to show Levin who I really belonged to, but I could not seem to care.

However, when he shot a gentle smile full of love my way I found myself being eased just with the behaviour of my mate and eagerly nodded my head.

Nathan chuckled and started the car. I realized that his whole posture relaxed as we crossed the border of the Crescent Moon pack.

"You okay?"

Nathan smiled shortly at what I did not know, but then started to explain, "Yeah it's just that the last week was tough and I'm really looking forward to this vacation, especially to spending so much time with you."

He had taken my hand and had led it to his mouth where Nathan kissed it gently. I felt myself blush, because of this gesture and shot another thanks to the moongoddess that my mate was this perfect.

"Me too. And once we're back I can help you, you're not alone in all this."

Nathan's eyes locked with mine and I could see gratitude and adoration shining in his eyes.

It took us five hours to finally arrive at our destination, but I could not complain because as always my mate was the best company. We got to know each other better, exchanging our likes and dislikes. Also Nathan told me more about his adoptive family and I could clearly see it in his eyes that he had had a good childhood and a great family to grow up with. A weight I had not even realized was there had then dropped from my shoulders. Nathan also talked a lot about his nephew Max and when I told him that I would love to meet him and Nathan's adoptive family, he looked more than delighted at my proposal.
