I would like to keep my family away from him and his brothers as possible. They cannot be looking for my family out of

concern

“We want to get rid of our wicked queen.” He informs. “Her father will not be happy about it, of course. What do you think he will do once he learns that you’re our mate?”

My entire body shivers with apprehension. News of my true identity will spread like wildfire. Which means that soon people of Silverthorn will be talking about me being the mate of the angel kings. If any harm befalls queen Lyna her father may go after my family.

My mother disowned me after I failed to phase on my eighteen birthday. So it’s just my father that I have to worry about. He is the pack’s gamma, but not even he can fight the alpha and all his men. He needs my protection

“I am offering to send men to Silverthorn to escort your family to a safer park. They can be hosted by one of our allies if you do not want them to come here: Angel Carren offers.

I wonder what he expects in return. He cannot concern himself with safety of ordinary beings without needing something in

return.

“And how do you expect me to repay you this favour, 1 ask.

“All I ask is that you stay after the tournament.” He answers and 1 gape in astonishment.

That’s a hefty demand for such a little favour. But what else will I do to protect my father if I refuse?

“I imagine you will need time to think about it. So I shall wait for your answer until tomorrow. He says before turning to leave 

I return to my guest room and lay back on my bed. If I stay the spell that withholds our mate bond will fade away completely. And things will start getting messy.

“Didn’t you get a servant to send to the kings?” Ezra asks.

“I met one of the kings.” I inform and curiosity fills his eyes.

“They want me to stay after the tournament.” I add he jumps up in shock.

“Our alpha will not like that. Unless he is getting an alliance in return.”

Angel Conrad’s Pov

“Your Majesty, your queen wishes to see you” A servant informs while standing at the door of my chambers Usually I would decline to see her. But not today. As much as her presence disgusts me, we still have a valuable planto accomplish. And luckily she has come looking for us.

“Let her in” I say..

The servant turns and ushers in our queen. She is dressed in tight, intimate apparel, mostly made of lace.

She smiles amorously while taking slow strides into the room. She has used her expensive powders to hide most of the red marks but swells are still there, especially on her barely covered butt.

“Do you like it” She spins in circles at the centre of the room.

I would be entired if only I don’t find every inch of her body disgusting already. But I am supposed to act enamored in order

I take one last sip of the wine and pretend to pass out. The glass slips out of my grasp and smashes against the floor. “Honey?!” She calls with pretentious concern.

But our assistant, Henry, is the first man I meet as I stride down the corridors that lead to the next royal chambers. Our distant cousin, Lady Doria, tags behind him.

She had returned to her husband and kids after overseeing the contest we had set to select a virtuous queen. We were not expecting her visit, but she is always welcome to spend some days in our palace.

Doria excitedly steps forward to shake my hand. I force a warm smile as I place a kiss on the back of her hand. I do not think of her as a good person but she has always been the most loyal relative.

“That is true.” I affirm.

Doria falls to her knees, a rueful expression taking over her previously happy face.
