Suddenly I smell her sweet scent of strawberries and vanilla, my head whips to the door where she was being examined about an hour ago when Louis had brought her in.
I look over her amazing body, she has a few cuts that are still healing and her arm is red. But she has no smoke on her skin anymore and she has a new set of clothes on.
She smiles at me and starts walking towards me with a limp in her left leg. I frown and with my inhuman speed I am by her side stopping her.
I wrap my arms around her waist tightly not caring if her friends knew about us or not.
"I was so worried Maia." I whispered into her neck as I breath in her intoxicating scent. I hear her laugh quietly.
"Sorry Austin," she says "I'm fine now."
She coughs into her hands and I look at her worriedly. She sees all her friends and limps over to them all giving each a hug. I see Jace watching over her protectively and when he notices her leg he makes her sit down.
"Alpha." The Doctor says getting my attention "she will be alright. She has still got some smoke in her lungs but the healing has kicked in although she will have a cough for a few days and she shouldn't do to much exercise. Her ankle is sprained from jumping from the second story window and she won't let me put a cast on it. So just make sure that after school she rests it and if possible put something cold on it."
Wait, she jumped out of a second story window?! And she refused a cast?!
"Okay thanks doc." I say and walk back to Maia who is busy talking with her friends. She looks up at me and smiles softly.
I gently picked her up bridal style holding her close to me, ignoring her protests that she can walk by herself.
I thank everyone and tell them I'm taking her back to the school. I walk out leaving her blushing and her friends gawking.
When we are back to the school building instead of heading to her bedroom I head to my office.
"Where are we going?" Her angelic voice asks as she rests her head on my shoulder and coughs.
"To my office, I have work to finish and your not leaving my sight." I say and climb some stairs making sure I don't bounce her.
"What about the bathroom?" She asks mischievously and I look swim at her with a smirk.
"I'll have to come with you." I say placing a kiss on her soft pink lips before opening the office for and going in.
It was now 11 o'clock in the night and she was starting to fall asleep. I sigh loudly putting everything down on my desk before moving to the couch.
She smiled up at me and I grinned right back. She stood up and wrapped her arms around my neck tightly.
"You work so hard Austin," she says kissing my lips "I think you should go to bed."
She lets go and starts limping to the door but I pull her back. She gasps in fright but it turns into a laugh.
"Where are you going?" I say landing my forehead against hers and she rolls her eyes.
"To bed dumbo! I'm tired." She complained but before she could move again I picked her up making her groan. "Austinnnn"
"What did I tell you earlier? You aren't leaving my sight." I say kissing her petite nose and she whines.
I walk to my bookself and pull on a book reading 'mythical creatures and legends' which made the book case pull back revealing a secret staircase leading up.
