Before I fell asleep I heard Austin mutter "I love you Maia."

I wake up feeling warm and protected, this is the best way to wake up even if my emotions are all over the place and my neck is still slightly pained.

Soft fingertips are caressing my cheek softly and a arm is around my waist, I can feel his hot skin on my bare hip.

I open my eyes slowly and I smile into my yawn. Austin is still caressing my cheek softly while smiling down at me. I stretch out and hear a satisfying click on my back.

"Morning babe." Austin says in a hot morning voice.

"Morning." I say in a weird voice so I cough and say it again normally. I frown at my voice malfunction.

"Don't worry love," Austin laughs "your body is healing and you still have some smoke in your lungs, I don't blame you if your voice is weird."

He leans down and kisses my pouting lips but then it starts becoming much more passionate and heated.

We pull away and groan when my phone buzzes. I reach for it and open the text from Louis.

I laugh at his nickname for me but stop when Austin growls loudly. He wraps his arms around me and dips his head into my neck taking deep breaths of my scent.

"That pup better keep his hands off what's mine." He says possessively. I grab his hands and kiss his clenched fist.

"I have to go," I say and he groans holding me tighter "you have duties and I have school, I'll be back after school. Well if I'm allowed back up here."

I had forgotten that after the marking male wolfs especially Alpha's get 100x more possessive and protective over their mates and it worsens even more after mating.

Then I remember something, now he can read my thought and feel my emotions and pain. I can't go back to...no never mind can't think about it.

"Of course you can come back up here baby." He says kissing me cheek "what can't you think about?"

I put it on and almost moan at the smell, it's so comforting having his smell around me.

He comes out of the bathroom in a towel tied around his waist and one laying on his shoulder that he was just using to dry his hair.

My eyes take in our mates delicious body and his amazing six pack. Oh I do have a sexy mate mind.

"Why thank you babe." He chuckles walking towards me.

"Oh dang, this stupid mind-link." I say whining and I do sound like a five year old when I whine.

He leans down and kisses me "have fun and mind-link me if you feel ill because your still not over it you know Maia."

"Yes sir." I say and mock salute him, he pokes his tongue out at me "immature." I mutter then leave walking down the spiral staircase.

I make it to the school in record time and even though the mark is messing with my mind I feel bright and happy.

The bell rang and suddenly students poured out of every classroom until I was in the usual swarm of hot bodies.
