Estelle's POV

I subconsciously hit the light of my phone on the face of the man in front of me, who squinted at me because of the intense light. His eyes were the blue of the deep sea, which revealed disgust and a hint of surprise. The man reached out and knocked my phone away, and I could only see his face with the help of the moonlight.

He was much taller than me, about six feet one to six feet two. So I could only look up at him. His smooth black hair was like a raven's feather. The moonlight shone on his handsome face, making his skin appear luminous white. The brow bone left a small shadow under his eyes, making his eyes look even more shadowy. The man's lips were tightly pursed under his high nose, and he looked angry.

"Who are you!" The man amplified his voice. Even though there was no wolf, I could feel the powerful sense of oppression from him.

I did my best not to pass out, and I said to the man, "My name is Estelle. I didn't mean to break in, I got lost."

The man took a few steps forward and my face was less than two inches from his chest. The man emitted a nice woodsy scent mixed with a hint of metal.

"You shouldn't have come here." The man reached straight out and grabbed me by the neck after he finished speaking.

He was trying to kill me! My instincts told me to push the man's hand away and try to get away. My nails had already left blood marks on his arms, but his hands were still motionless. My neck hurt like it was going to break; I wanted to scream, but all I could let out of my throat was a "hissing" sound.

I felt like the blood vessels in my brain were about to burst, and the strength of the man's hands didn't lessen at all. I was going to die, on this night of my boyfriend's betrayal. I was going to die in the hands of a man I didn't know, and my eyes slowly went black.

"Wake up." A voice came from far away in the darkness. A white light appeared in front of my eyes, and it slowly took over my entire vision. By the time I had adjusted to the white light, my eyes turned to a white ceiling.

"You're finally awake." Mr. Ryan was at the edge of my hospital bed. "Can you talk?"

I tried to open my mouth and my voice was incredibly hoarse, "What's going on?"

"I told you not to run around! You didn't listen, and we searched for you all night. You were passed out in wood when we found you."

"Sorry, I got lost."

"It's a good thing you're not badly hurt, hell, I don't know which hooligans pinched you on your neck."

I touched the bandage on my neck. The man last night didn't look like a hooligan at all. I asked Ryan, "What wolf pack territory did I pass out in?"

"Geez, did you hurt your brain? Of course it's our wolf pack! How could we still get you back if you wandered into another wolf pack by mistake."

"I'm sorry." I was sure I got into some other wolf pack last night, along with that strange man. But all I could do was play dumb to Ryan; no one would believe my word.

"You indeed should apologize." Ryan looked at me, probably because he felt sorry for me, and said, "But you need to recover first."

When Ryan was gone, I asked the nurse for a mirror. I removed the bandage from my neck, which was an amazing bruise. But I clearly remembered that my neck had almost been snapped, and I was now simply bandaged up.
