HIS QUEEN novel Chapter 33

I straightened out my dress again as I waited nervously behind the large doors. I had spent the last three hours with the maids getting ready for the ball and the outcome was marvelous.

The trumpet sounded and the large doors were thrown open. I took in a deep breath to calm my nerves and pit a smile on my face and entered the ball room.

A loud chorus of 'all hail the queen' was heard before they dropped to their knees. I looked up at Thane seated in all his glory on his throne. I held his eyes as I walked down to him.

I curtsied before him and he stood up and took my hands. He helped me to my throne beside his. The crowd stood up and everybody began to mingle.

"You look breathtaking" I blushed at him.

"You don't look bad yourself"

A small group of people came up to us and bowed.

"I'm Galen, sub alpha of the south. We pledge our allegiance to King Alcius and Queen Esmeralda"

"Rise" I smiled at them and they left. The next group came and bowed.

"Dard. Sub alpha of the west. We pledge our allegiance to your majesty"

"I'm Endymion. Sub alpha of the East. It will be the greatest honour to serve you"

The royal advisors of the North, Beta Valdus and his mate, and Noir also pledged their allegiance. A few other important people also came but I wasn't paying attention anymore.

The betas of each section was supposed to be present for this ball. I searched for the familiar face of my beta.

Thane placed his hands on mine and whispered in a low voice. " What is it little mate" I shook my head and smiled at him.

"I can feel your worry through the bond"

"It's nothing"

Someone cleared their throat and we turned to see Eridian standing there. I smiled at him and he smiled in return.

"A pleasure to be your subject" he bowed and gave Thane a brief glance before walking into the crowd.

Carlyn sashayed to the throne and bowed with a fake smile on he face. She looked at Thane a bit long for my liking. I hissed at her and held his hands tightly, marking my territory. She looked taken back for a bit but regained her composure and walked away.

Thane rubbed his hands soothingly over mine while trying to hide his chuckle. I gave him an annoyed glance and focused on the crowd.

I stood up as soon as I spotted the face I was searching for. Thane held my hands as I tried to walk towards him. I looked at him and he shook his head. I looked back to him and saw two set of familiar faces walking towards us.

As soon as they were Infront of me, I ran into my mother's arms.
