S2–Chapter 179
Samantha’s POV
After a long and exhausting day, I was finally heading to bed. I fell so tired. I left early from the beach party that Hebe and Melissa organized – it was wonderful, but I needed sleep. I went home alone since Henry was caught up in an animated conversation with the guys and seemed to be having a great time.
I took a warm shower, put on my pajamas, and collapsed into bed, falling asleep almost immediately, hearing the distant laughter from the beach. I was so tiredthat didn’t even notice when Henry joined me. But then he had the brilliant idea of waking me up to watch the sunrise. He was electric with energy while night was still fading in the sky.
“Come on, my goddess. Wake up! Let’s watch the sunrise,” Henry was lying on top of me, covering me with kisses.
“My goodness, what’s all this excitement about watching the sunrise?” I complained.
“Yes, please, today is a very important day. Come on,” Henry pleaded like a needy puppy.
“I’m sleepy,” I protested.
“You’ll have time to sleep during the honeymoon,” Henry argued, making me laugh.
“Are you sure about that?” I opened my eyes and looked
“No, I’m not. But come on, I promise I’ll make it up to you. I’ve already picked out clothes for you to wear,” he insisted, and knew he wouldn’t give up.
oked at the thoughtful expression he made while glancing upward.
“Alright, I’ll take a shower to wake myself up,” I reluctantly got out of bed and went to the bathroom.
After the shower, I saw Henry sitting there, wearing white linen shorts and a light blue shirt, the color of a summer sky. On the bed was a light dress the same color as his shirt that I didn’t remember packing.
“What dress is this?” I looked at the piece curiously – it was a long dress with thin straps crossed at the back and a flowing skirt, light and with small ruffles that gave it a youthful delicacy.
“I bought it for you!” Henry’s eyes sparkled. “Put it on for me.”
Henry was plotting something; I recognized the signs when he had a surprise prepared for me. He would become euphoric like a child waiting to open Christmas presents, couldn’t wipe the smile off his face, and his eyes sparkled with joy. I decided not to argue and put on the dress and the flat sandals he handed me.
He took my hand as we walked down the stairs just as the sun began to peek over the horizon. In the living room, I looked through the open doors and saw a table set with a white tablecloth outside on the lawn, near the rock where I had sat the day before, and everyone was seated there.
“What have you planned, my handsome? What’s the surprise?” I asked, already smiling, realizing it would be something special.
“Today’s surprise isn’t from me. I just helped,” Henry gave an enigmatic smile.
We walked to the table, greeting all our friends and family who were present. Everyone wore big smiles, despite the early hour. Then I noticed a partially bald gentleman sitting at a smaller side table, decorated with white lilies and a large open book. I was still analyzing the scene and trying to figure out what was happening when Joaquin approached me, and Henry placed my hand in his before stepping away.
“Folks, what’s going on?” I asked, confused.
“Samantha, from the moment I met you, I was enchanted by that braided–hair girl, just entering her teens, who was far too responsible for her thirteen years,” Joaquin began speaking. “I wasn’t even dating your mother yet, because we were friends first. The day I introduced you to my son Vince, you two immediately recognized each other as siblings, always teasing each other and looking out for one another. My first wife passed away just months before, and you helped Vince get through that difficult time. You would hold his hand through the window while he cried hidden behind the house, never asking questions and later pretending nothing had happened. You and your mother brought joy back into our lives. I love you like the daughter I never

had, I keep telling you this, but you were placed in my life as a divine gift, and I received you with immense joy.”
I wiped away the tears falling from my eyes. Vince came closer and put his arm around my shoulder. We truly were siblings born to different families, and I loved him dearly. Joaquin’s words touched my heart deeply.
“You’ve been my daughter since the moment I met you, DNA doesn’t matter. I tell everyone I have two children, but that the girl is smarter and prettier,” Joaquin made me laugh. “Daughter, I’m very proud of you and proud to be in your life. But I’d like to be on your birth certificate too. Sam, would you do me the honor of accepting my last name and legally accepting me as your father?

“What are you saying?” My eyes widened as I whispered.
