"I can't make her stop crying. I have tried everything." Grace is trying to get out of Ivy's arms so she places her on the floor. We watch as a tear streaked Grace comes crawling over to me lifting up her arms.

"Mama." I pick her up and she stops crying straight away burring her head into the crook of my neck. Having Grace in my arms calms down my wolf, so I stroke her hair trying to calm the little girl down.

"Mama." She says again.

"Your mummy is right in there getting better." I don't know if she understand but I see understanding flash though her eyes. I look up to see Felix and Ivy watching.

"How does she recognise who I am?" Felix smiles and strokes his mate's hair.

"She can sense the bond between you and her mother. She feels drawn to you as much as you feel drawn to her mother." That makes sense as to why I was able to calm her down. Another doctor comes into the room a smiled at me and Grace.

"Is this the rouge child you wanted me to have a look at?" I pull Grace away from my shoulder and nod. She understands that I won't leave my mate so she brings everything she needs. She does checks on Grace and I watch as she frowns at some things.

"Is she ok?" I ask when the nurse doesn't say anything once Grace has been checked. Grace like the good girl she was didn't fuss once as the doctor poked and probed her with things.

"The child is not in the best of conditions. She is healthy I will say that but she lacks the nutrients that a young child needs. That explains why her sin is pale. She is smaller than most pups her age and a bit behind in motor skill. I would say the child is about 12-13 months old. That is very young to have a young pup out on their own. The first 12 months of a child's life is crucial, by not being around a father or a pack might affect her when she gets older. Like when she might shift." The nurse stops and looks up at us all.

"What do you mean by might shift.? The nurse sighs looking at Grace who is sleeping.

"Your mate is suffering from extreme anorexia. Her blood level is so low I am surprised she is every alive. Most wolves would be dead in her condition." I let the doctors words sink in. My mate could have died.

"She has suffered, your mate, from abuse. There are signs of broken and fractured bones that have never healed probably. There are signs of internal scaring that were never treated. She has scars that look like have been scared from silver and bite marks which again have never been treated." I let out a loud growl at the sound of the doctor's voice. I will kill whoever did this to my mate.

"I am sorry to say but this is the worst cause I have ever seen. It is clear that she was ever treated for any of her wounds and left to heal naturally. Your mate is strong beta to survive what she has, it is amazing. At the moment I have her hooked up to sugar and I am doing a blood transfusion to get her blood levels up. I am hoping if she starts eating again that she will fill out and her skin won't be so pale. I am also injecting her with a chemical which will give her the nutrients she needs." The doctor gets up and pats my shoulder.

"If I was you I would take my time. Don't rush her because it is hard to know what her mental state is like. You can go and see her." The doctor leaves and I get up. Felix and Ivy follow me in and I see my mate looking so small and pale in the bed.
