Apprehended By My Mate novel Chapter 13

"I know you are sorry Clare. I only do what is best for you, because I love you." My wolf and I purr in content as he carries us back to his room. We are both lying in his bed enjoy the company of being close to each other.

"Why did you keep me there Derek? I hated it." He kisses my forehead and I look up at him through my thick lashes.

"I know you did, but you need to learn. You are mine Clare and I can do anything I want to you. Know be a good girl and tell me why I can do anything to you." I smile because I have repeated this thousands of times to him.

"Because you love me and now what is best." I look at him innocently and he smiles before bringing his hand across my face.

"Yes that is right. I love you so that is why I did it." He kisses my now stinging face wiping away my tears from where he hit me. I know he hit me, but it is because he loves me and he knows what is best for me. I snuggle into his chest before drifting off to sleep.

Blinking my eyes open I notice everything is white. The walls, floors, even my sheet. I look to my left and find the source of the beeping noise. I frown in confusion before I start to pull the needles out of my arm. The beeping noise increases causing a women and man dressed in white to come into the room like angles rushing to help the victim. The moment they try to reach out for me I jump curling myself into a tight ball closing my eyes. As if sensing my distress they back off allowing me to assess what is going on around me.

I look down to see I am in a paper dress. I look at my arms to see a small amount of muscle I am gaining. I also take note on how predominate my scars are on my arms. Flashing silver like spider webs after it has rained. I run my hands over my face feeling the raised area where I had been attacked. I look at the people in white to see them watching me with caution.

"I am Marcus and this is Jade. Do you know where you are?" His voice is rough and not smooth like an angles. I shake my head causing it to spin.

"Clare." A voice whisper next to my ear causing me to shiver. Coldness sweeps though my bones chilling me from the inside, the ache in my chest flares to life burning out the coldness that is rattling my bones. My heart is beating in my chest waiting to explode. My wolf is trying to take control to calm me down but all her attempts fail due to the frail state we are in.

"Clare, please calm down love. We just want to help you." The soothing voice whispers in my ear and both my wolf and I feel Conner's presence taking a toll in calming us down.

"Beta she needs to go back to the pack hospital she is still not well yet." The doctor says adding to my already panicked state.

"No, no, please don't take me back there I beg you please don't take me back." I leap into Conner's arms and cling to his shirt begging him not to take me back. He rubs his large hand up and down my back in a calming manner. I finally start to settle down and my body starts to shut down with sleep. My eyes become heavy and my breathing starts to even out. I feel my small body being picked up from the floor and placed in a warm and comfortable bed. I hear a sigh before the darkness of sleep takes over.
