"Whoa, you both look just- stunning." I feel my cheeks redden as a blush rises on my face. I feel almost normal as I blush. I cannot even remember the last time a blush made it's presence on my face.
"Thankyou." I say softly as I go and stand next to him keeping a safe distance that allows me to feel somewhat safe. We both walk into the dining hall where pack dinner's occur. I look around to see everyone stop and look at us, it is than that I noticed we were the last to arrive.
"Sorry about being late Alpha." I say to Felix and in return he smiles as Conner, Grace and I sit down on the left side of the Alpha. Once dinner has started conversation flows around the table. I listen to Felix and Conner laugh about something and also take in note of the other conversations and how at ease everyone is with one another. Grace is sitting in my lap being as quiet as I am, the both of us just sitting and listening. The more quite you are, the less you will get notice meaning you won't draw attention to yourself meaning you won't get hurt.
"So Clare, you have been quiet." I turn my head towards Ivy who is smiling at me. I don't say anything as I nod my head. "Why don't you tell us a bit about yourself." I shake my head not wanting to say anything. Dinner gets placed in front of me but I don't feel the need to eat. I feed Grace and she eats most of the food on my plate. I take a few bites of the amazing roast before I feel my stomach churning as the acid escapes my stomach. I quickly pass Grace to Conner before I jump out of my seat running to the nearest bathroom. It doesn't take long before dinner is sitting in the toilet bowel. I feel tears run down my face as my throat burns and my stomach hurts. I am glad that I was able to feed Grace so she doesn't have to go through what I am. That is one thing I will never regrate, giving Grace all the food leaving me with barley none.
I feel the door open as I feel another presence entre the room. I look to see Ivy standing there with sad look on her face. My stomach no longer feels the need to repel my dinner so I stand up leaving on the counter. I close my eyes as my head spins. I wait for the spinning to stop before I open my eyes only to realise how close Ivy was standing to me.
"Let me help." She opens up the cabinet and grabs a glass filling it up with water before passing it to me. "This will help." Our fingers touch and I don't feel any form of fear which is strange. I take small sips of water getting the rid of the foul taste in my mouth.
"Yeah, I am glad that she has someone who is normal." The smile that was on my face slides at the thought that my daughter now has someone who can look after her better than I can.
It's been a few day since the pack dinner and I find myself settling back into pack life. I find the more I remember what pack life was like, the stronger Derek's lessons become and I find myself making sure that I obey them all. I still find myself waking up at an ungodly hour to make sure I look presentable as I start on breakfast and cleaning. I know that Conner has picked up on these things but he doesn't say anything as he sits and watches me cook and clean the house.
Over the last few days I have found myself warming up to Ivy. I don't know what it is, but she makes me feel safe. Whenever she is around my wolf and I feel calm, not the same way Conner makes us calm, but in a different way. It's hard to explain. She is one of my only people who can touch me without fear erupting from the inside that leaves me shaking for hours.
