I waited for an hour before I made my way over to the pack house. I knew everyone was out and the only persons still here was Jason and a few warriors. As I made my way to the door I glanced at myself in a window and gasped at the sight.
My brown hair was a tangled mess that sat on top of my head. My face was hallow and my skin was pale. My once brown eyes now looked a dull grey and had dark circles underneath them. My once shinny hair look colourless and lifeless. My clothes were dirty and torn. My once shapely, filled out body no longer existed, instead it was replaced with malnutrition skeleton with pale skin and silver scars running across the surface. Grace started to stir again causing me to snap out of whatever daze I put myself in.
I found the back door and was surprised to see it open. I slowly stepped inside the pack house and was greeted with warmth. Something I haven't felt in years. Grace became so still and quiet and I think she was feeling the same warmth I was. I didn't have time to dwell over this because I need to get out before anyone came back. I silently made my way around until I found the kitchen which was huge.
I opened up my small bag and started grabbing whatever I could lay my hands on. Fruit, bread, cans. I kept looking around to make sure no one was coming. Grace started mumbling baby talk to me causing me to become anxious.
"Shhh. Here." I broke off a small section of bread and gave it to her watching her attack the bread sucking on it so she can swallow it. I find some bottles of water shoving them into my bag while trying to keep quiet.
"What do you think you are doing?" I stop at the sound of a voice freezing on the spot. OH NO. I turn around to see Jason standing with his arms across his chest staring death glares at me. I drop my bag and watch all the food roll onto the floor away from me, much like the idea that I am going to make it out of here alive. He looks at the food than looks back at me.
"You stealing from us rogue!" It wasn't a question and I glanced around trying to find an escape to see that all doors and windows had a warrior at them. I shallow the lump in my throat even though my body was shaking in fear. I try to contact my wolf for help but she isn't there.
"Answer me!" I hear the power in his voice but it is not as strong as a Beta or an Alpha so I am guessing he is third in command. I look around again and see the warriors closing in on me.
"Yeah baby girl Mums here. Mums here." I kiss her forehead and put her back down when she starts to wriggle out of my arms. I pull my knees back into my chest and rest my chin on them.
"Cute kid." I don't answer out of fear of him coming in and messing around with us. I just continue to stare at my child who is drawing in the dust and dirt that is on the floor. I hear the door bang open as feet come storming in. My fear is becoming overwhelming, that I grab Grace into my chest and cower into the dark corner of my cell.
"Where is the rogue that was stealing from my pack?" The alpha's voice booms causing me to whimper pulling Grace closer to me. My body is shaking as flashback of Derek raising his fist at me begin to surface.
"She is in the cell alpha." The guard says as my cell door slams open bringing in a very angry and pissed off alpha. I knew this was my end, so I started kissing Grace's forehead whispering over and over again that I loved her. I know I looked pathetic rocking back and forth, shaking in fear, trying to convey how much I loved my daughter.
