I knew the alpha was looking for a mark telling me I was mated, but he frowned when he saw the evidence of the mark being burnt away, breaking the bond. I saw that he had a mark. It was beautiful. He smiled when he saw me looking and reached up to touch his mark made by his Luna.

"You will like her. She is caring and a good listener," The alpha smiles and holds out his hand to me.

"My name is Alpha Felix, why don't you come and meet my wife Ivy?" He extended his arm out to me but I didn't take it. I stayed put. I wasn't going anywhere but when I looked at my options. If I stay, I will die. If I follow there is a better chance of us getting away. I look at Grace who has been watching me this whole time with wide and loving eyes. I look back at Alpha Felix and nod my head and I watch a grin spread across his face.

"Good. I am sorry about Jason and how he treated you. He has an issue with rogues." He smiles at me as I transfer Grace onto my hip. I look down at the floor and follow him out. I stay behind Alpha Felix as we walk from the cellars to the pack house. He is explaining where his border ends and how far his territory is to fill the silence between us.

I can feel Grace looking around excited for once she gets to see where she is going. As we reach the house I slow my steps down as we get glares from other wolfs around us.

I know I look like a mess but I cannot take their constant staring at me. Alpha Felix open the door and gestures me inside the pack house.

"Did you handle the rogue?" A voice cuts through the room and I watch as a red head strolls into the room stopping when she notices me.

"This is my wife Ivy, I was telling you about as we came in." I didn't say anything as I looked at the Luna before me. Her names suited her well. She had striking red hair against her pale completion. Her green eyes shone with pride and something else as she looked at Felix. Must be the mate bond. This stirred something inside of me but I pushed it away for now. My main focus was assessing what was around me and the best way I could protect Grace.

"It's lovely to meet you, and you are-" She holds out her hand and I look at it with uncertainty. I don't take her hand, I don't say a word causing Ivy to frown.

"How about we get you both some food. I heard that is what you were trying to steal," She laughs but I don't see how it is funny. When you go a week without food so you can feed your child what little you have. I shake my head to myself as she leads us to the kitchen. "Take a seat." She gestures and I notice all the women looking at me and Grace. I decided to sit on a stool with Grace in my lap who is happily talking to herself. I watch as Ivy passes me a sandwich and what looks like baby food.

Grace looks at it and scrunches her little button nose and points to the banana on the counter.

"Mama." She tugs at my shirt and point to the banana. I chuckle and reach for it pealing back the skin. A few months ago I managed to steal a banana. Grace loved it to bits, I tried to get her to say banana but the best I got was nana.

"Nana." She cheered and clapped her hands together to broke off a small piece and put it into her hands. I watched as she squashed in her hands before stuffing it in her mouth excitingly than showing me her hands for more. I gave her more and in no time at all the whole thing was gone. I didn't have anything to clean her hands with so I used my shirt. Not that it mattered if it got anymore dirty.
