I feel my heart stop beating as the man's face becomes known. I can her nothing around me as my eyes hone in on the person standing before me. I feel the smile fall off my face as I feel my blood turn to ice.

"Dad?"

I can't move or breathe, I am stuck in a trance that I cannot escape. I stare at dad as unwanted flashbacks invade my head along with Derek's voice.

"Clare bear?" He takes a step forward while I take one step back. He frowns as my body starts to tremble. I hear my blood rushing in my ears and my vision tunnels in on my father.

"I never thought that I would ever-" he starts to rush towards me and I back away until I run into a warm solid wall. I feel hands being placed on my shoulders keeping me in place.

"It's ok Clare." Conner whispers in my ear and I shake my head. It is not going to be ok, I am freaking out, I know it. My father takes another step forward in my direction and I stop breathing. My body becomes stiff and I am frozen in place.

"Shit." I hear Conner whisper behind me and I feel his hands disappear. I feel a warm breath on my face and warm hands holding my cold face in place.

"Clare, look at me. You need to breathe ok take a deep breath." I can hear Conner's panic, but my body is not obeying what I want it to do.

"Someone get the doctor." Someone yells as my lungs scream for oxygen but my brain is not responding to my need.

"What's wrong with her?" I hear my father ask around all the chaos. I hear shouting around me as dots start to cover my vision.

"Clare I am sorry." I hear Conner say before something sharp penetrates my leg. I don't scream but I draw in a deep breath and start coughing trying to get the much needed oxygen back into my body.

"Thank god." Conner pulls me into my arms and I keep coughing.

"He's in my head." I whisper to Conner as Derek shouts at me.

"Momma." My head naps up at the sound of Grace walking towards me. When she reaches me I pick her up holding her close to my chest. I peak up under my eyelashes to see my father with wide eyes looking at Grace.

There is no denying that Grace I my child. She has the same hair and eyes as me and the same small build, however you can also see Derek in her. The shape of her face, her ears and sometimes the way her eyes harden when she is trying to concentrate on something, and this scares me. It scares me that she will turn out like Derek because after all he is her father.

"Momma who's that?" She points towards my Dad and I shake my head. We are all standing in silence trying to work out the best way to approach this without me having another freak out.

"How about we all go and sit in the lounge room?" Felix says and we all follow but me, Conner and Grace.

"Clare are you ok?" he ask and I shake my head.

"No, I don't know, I don't know what to feel. I haven't seen my family in seven years, the last time I saw them we were fighting and I told them that they didn't love me. Derek told me over and over again that my parents didn't love me and they wished I was dead, but seeing Dad now." I shake my head because my emotions are all over the place.
