"When you wake Clare you will feel better." She says as she injects me and I feel myself slowly drifting into a peaceful sleep.
Conner
The doctor leaves and I sit with Clare. I am glad she told me she wasn't feeling right, but it breaks my heart knowing that she is feeling like this. I kiss her on the head before leaving her to rest. I run my hands over my face frustrated by her father. It was all his fault she was like this again. I walk into the lounge room to find her father and Grace playing.
"Dada." I smile as Grace gets up and waddles over to me. I pick my princess kissing her all over hr face making her laugh.
''Where momma?" she ask and I still smile at her not wanting to worry her.
"She was tired so she went to bed early." Her eyes widen and she looks outside.
"Me sleep too." I laugh as she pout's at me.
"Not yet, we still need to have dinner and a bath." Her brown eyes widen again at the sound of a bath.
"Bath." She claps her hand sand I put her back down on the floor. I look over to Clare's dad to see him watching us with such fondness. He stand up and walks over to me.
"Sorry I didn't introduce myself earlier I am Bill Clare's dad." I shake his hand.
"I am Conner Beta of the red moon pack and your daughter true mate." He smiles even more but frowns. We both take a seat watching Grace play.
"I just wanted to say I am-"I cut him off before he can say anything.
"I don't want you saying anything in front of Grace. This little girl has been through enough. She is every smart and she knows when something isn't right so please refrain yourself for a bit." Right than the twins walk in.
"She was scared of everything when she first arrived. She would have flashback, panic attacks. She still does but she is getting help. She wants able to keep any food down and was always scared. About a month ago she tried to kill herself. It was then that we started getting her real help. She suffers from PTSD, depression, anxiety and other things as well. All of this happened because of Derek."
"You know how hard a rogue life is, food is limited and safety is almost impossible. Clare was able to survive for a year not only by herself but with Grace as well. She made sure Grace was always feed even if it meant that she had to miss out." I take another deep breath trying to hold my own tears at day.
"Her body is covered in scars from abuse and even though she doesn't talk much about her time with Derek I know that it was bad. She old me out of the seven years she was with Derek she only left the house three times." I stop talking as I don't know what else I can say.
"Derek is a monster, Clare had no control over what happened, she told me she sometimes tried to fight but it always made the situation worse. She had to burn away her own mate mark only a few hours after she gave birth to Grace." I look over to Bill who has his hands in his face as he cries.
"My poor baby girl. I should have never let her leave with him. I knew something wasn't right with him. He never let us see her and whenever I went over to their house they were never home. I should have been there for her." I get up from my seat and place my hand on his shoulder trying to convey that it is alright.
"It wasn't your fault, if you want to blame anyone than blame Derek. He was the one who did this to her." He stops crying and looks up at me.
