Chapter 37 novel Alpha's Cursed Mate

Estelle's POV

The taste of Lance's blood was so much sweeter than the others, like a combination of honey and vanilla. I was a little intoxicated by the sweetness and couldn't resist riding him and sucking his blood.

"That's enough." I don't know how long it took, but Lance pinched my jaw, forcing my teeth away from his skin. I looked up to see the reflection on the glass door of the bathroom and my eyes turned back to blue.

I realized what I had just done, and Lance's face was paler than before, and the bitterness of guilt gushed out of me.

"Oh my God, I'm sorry."

"I'm the one who gave you permission. If I didn't want to, you'd never be able to drink a drop of my blood."

"I'm just a crazy person with no sense." I tried to get off Lance's body, but his grip on my waist stopped me from doing so. All I could do was lay on his firm pecs.

"We weren't paying enough attention and that's what gave you a blood thirst attack. You haven't drunk a bit of blood since you got back, don't be right with your biological needs."

"But I don't want to drink other people's blood."

"I will prepare some animal blood for you, but it will keep you from getting sick."

"That sounds really gross."

"You're going to have to get used to this." Lance's fingers run over my skin and all I feel is a cold touch.

"Just how much blood have I drunk from you."

"Don't doubt the Alpha's ability to recover, I'll be fine in no time."

"I'm sorry."

"I don't need an apology from you." He kissed the top of my head "I can accept the loss of a little blood, you are more important to me."

I listened to the steady sound of his heart beating in his chest as the temperature of his body slowly rose. I marvel at the Alpha's ability to recover and look up at Lance. he is more vulnerable now than ever, his long, slender eyelashes casting a small shadow over his dark blue eyes.

My heart suddenly twitched and Artemis urged me to soothe my mate. i carefully climbed my arm onto Lance's shoulder. He was taken aback by my sudden movement. Then immediately accepting this, he placed my head on the side of his face.

Lance's fingers kept rubbing the small patch of skin on the back of my neck, and I was breathing heavily from the movement of his fingers.

"You like this?"

"I... No."

"Don't attempt to lie to your Alpha."

More than just the physical touch, the MATE link brought me an overwhelming sense of protection and comfort. My body and spirit look forward to his mark. lance feels this too, and the heat of his body slowly rises.

"Don't be afraid, I'm your MATE," Lance's hand was on my rear end and I decided to follow my desire for once. Pressed my lips to Lance's.

The pressure from my lips awakened my dormant desire, and as the kiss deepened, I could hear the low gasps coming from Lance's chest. I don't know how long it took, but Alpha's tongue grazed my teeth and I tasted a hint of sweetness. In pursuit of that taste, I sucked on the other man's tongue. a growl escaped Lance's throat and he threw my entire body onto the bed.

"If you let anyone know about this letter, your lineage will forever remain a secret."

Damn Noah, he compelled me and marked me as a vampire. I should have burned the letter, but my father didn't tell me what my mother's bloodline was, he said she was with my father against the family's wishes. It seems that my mother was once a member of the vampire nobility as well. I locked the letter in the cupboard and I will ask about it when my father comes back.

But my father said to me that he didn't know.

"How could you not know? That's your wife."

"I met her in the wild, and we fell in love. Then she came with me to the wolves."

"So you don't know her at all."

"I know what kind of person she is, and I don't care about her vampirism."

Unable to continue the conversation with my father, I went back to my bedroom and took the letter out again. I clutched the piece of paper tightly, assuring myself that going to see him alone was a bad idea, but doubts about my identity and my mysteriously missing mother kept circling my mind.

When I was still tossing and turning in bed in the wee hours of the morning, I finally couldn't resist pushing open the window and quietly slipping out of the house. After awakening my vampire powers, my senses became even sharper. So it was very easy to dodge the warriors on patrol. I ran from the edge of the wolf pack all the way to Moon Lake, where the wind still carried a hint of warmth. It was a far cry from the woods around the Legion.

I felt the scent of many living things at the lake, and it gave me a bit of a creepy feeling. Was this a trap? A million possibilities flashed through my mind, or was Noah the murderer?

A killing intent came from behind me, and I turned to block the attack of the sneak attacker. But when the moonlight shone on my opponent's face, I was so surprised I couldn't even speak.

"How is it you?" A voice as thick as hot chocolate inquired of me. In front of me was Anthony's surprised face.
