Estelle's POV

Anthony's brown eyes glowed gold in the night, and he was a little defensive. Firm muscles tensed in his shirt, and his mild amber scent was mixed with the sulfurous smell of gunpowder.

He asked me, "You're supposed to be in the Eclipse wolf pack, why are you showing up here?"

"Someone asked me to meet them here." Lying to a wary Alpha was not a good idea, and I had no choice but to tell part of the truth.

"Do you know that this is the border of our wolf pack? Who told you to come?"

"Sorry, I can't talk about that." Of course I couldn't tell him that a vampire had asked me to meet him here.

The atmosphere between us was stagnant, and the werewolf behind Anthony was restless. The werewolf looked almost two meters tall, and his thick arms and thighs looked very powerful. anthony looked small next to him, not to mention I looked like a little girl in front of him.

I held my hands up to my ears to show I had no animosity, "I didn't know this was your territory, I can leave right now."

Anthony finally let his guard down, "This really isn't my territory to be exact." He pointed to a wooded area behind the lake, "That's behind it."

Today was unlucky, I planned to sneak home before Lance noticed. "Looks like the guy I'm waiting for isn't coming, I'm going home."

"It's not safe here, you can come with me to our territory first. Wait for your wolf pack to come and get you." Anthony said to me. He was still the same warm and sunny person, and my nervousness was soothed.

Suddenly, I felt something watching us. anthony and his men didn't seem to notice, and he was asking me if I wanted to go to his wolf pack.

"Look out!" I rushed forward and pounced on Anthony as a miserable white paw grazed my face.

The werewolves behind Anthony reacted and snapped the vampire's neck. But that wasn't all. more and more vampires came out of the darkness. anthony got up from the ground, pulling me up in the process.

"Thanks." He said to me as he looked around.

"What's going on here?" I asked him.

"That's what I call 'dangerous', be careful they don't catch you." He said to the strong werewolf, "William! Take Estelle back."

"He's my Beta, you stay close to him and he'll take you to safety."

"What about you?"

"Don't worry about me."

The vampires slowly gathered around me, and William took me by the hand and ran. My wrists hurt as he squeezed them, and I saw William's face in the moonlight. His expression was as steely as a rock, and I guess he must have been angry. He should have been protecting his Alpha by now. But he couldn't disobey Anthony's orders.

After running not too far, I suddenly smelled a special blood scent in the air. A different aroma from vampires or ordinary werewolves, I had smelled a similar scent on Lance. So I stopped directly in my tracks.

"What are you doing?" William looked at me angrily as he pulled me to keep me running.

I pulled him in the opposite direction, "Anthony may be in danger."

"What do you mean? How do you know?"

Of course I couldn't tell him because I was a vampire, "Anyway, I just know that we should go back."

William hesitated, he certainly cared more about his Alpha than my life, "But I received orders to take you back."

"If he's dead, what do you care about this 'bullshit' order?" I was a little anxious, it would be a while before we made it back.

William looked at me for a moment, then made up his mind to run back with me. I followed the scent of blood brought by the wind and when we ran to the lake, all that was left there was a large group of vampire corpses.
